Are yall able to send MMS (sprint)? I can't send MMS (group texts or pics) via hangouts

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

No issues sending mms but at the same time I disabled hangouts and use a third party messaging app(textra).  I think most other have switched to third party apps as well.

I am not a fan of screen protectors either because all of them feels weird against my finger tips but gorilla glass or not, it really doesn't take much to scratch the screen.  Every day items like keys coins or whatever random items you may have in your pocket won't scratch your screen.  The number one culprit 99% of the time is some sort of sand/salica(it's everywhere) which will cut through any type of smartphone screen, gorilla glass or not, like a hot knife through butter.  So even though I can't stand screen protectors I now use them all the time.

I've been thinking of using this when I get the Nexus 5 next month.

Mine has been in a Otterbox defender case so nothing touches the screen plus it nothing else is in my front pocket except my phone.  All depends on how you use your phone.

I had to order another case because the heavy duty one negated my wireless charging capabilities.  Ended up buying a yellow bumper case to make this nexus 5 a sprint classic

I have heard good things about those tempered glass screen protectors but personally I think that $25 for any screen protector is too much.  Its funny though, I won't spend no more than $5 to $10 on a screen protector or case but have no problem dropping $600 to $700 on a phone, LOL.

Well you get what you pay for :P

If you think about it, spending $25 bucks for a $600 phone is roughly equivalent to 4.5% of what you paid, BUT it will give you back more resell value in the end.

If and when I get the phone and this protector, I'll let you know what's it's like :P

I bought a 3 pack of Obliq zeiss pure crystal screen protectors for my G2 on Amazon for $7 with free two day shipping. I may enjoy the comfort of having protection, but I am also cheap to the core. They are nice, btw, they feel almost like the normal glass screen and went on without any blemishes. Not bad for a couple of bucks.

Have you looked at cruzerlite cases? I got one for the nexus 4 when I had it, then the HTC One, and now my nexus 5 case just came in. TPU type case.

doesn't change much on the nexus 7 or 10

Nah it really didn't.  I was hoping to test out ART at least on mine.  Got my N5 sitting on my desk back home, so I'll be one of the groupies soon enough lol.

Have to ask... What is everyone's favorite thing about the device if they had to pick one thing?  (After using the device)

For anyone who has experienced the issue where an incoming call while on LTE locks your nexus on the call screen and you can't answer, we are starting to get a response from Google.  Please goto this google products thread and post about your issues.  They have already contacted me about collecting some bug reports.

No bloatware. It is very quick to response, I was shocked to notice a difference from the HTC One, I didn't believe I would notice it. Stock experience.

Not seeing block buster video app, NASCAR and many worthless hard coded apps is priceless

    • In the conference call they had two question on additional spectrum. One was the 800 spectrum. They are not certain what will happen, thus have not really put it into their plans either way (sale or no sale). The do have a reserve level. It is seen as great for new technologies which I presume is IOT or 5g slices.  They did not bite on use of their c-band or DOD.  mmWave rapidly approaching deadlines not mentioned at all. FWA brushes on this as it deals with underutilized spectrum on a sector by sector basis.  They are willing to take more money to allow FWA to be mobile (think RV or camping). Unsure if this represents a higher priority, for example, RVs in Walmart parking lots where mobile needs all the capacity. In terms of FWA capacity, their offload strategy is fiber through joint ventures where T-Mobile does the marketing, sales, and customer support while the fiber company does the network planning and installation.  50%-50% financial split not being consolidated into their books. I think discussion of other spectrum would have diluted the fiber joint venture discussion. They do have a fund which one use is to purchase new spectrum. Sale of the 800Mhz would go into this. It should be noted that they continue to buy 2.5Ghz spectrum from schools etc to replace leases. They will have a conference this fall  to update their overall strategies. Other notes from the call are 75% of the phones on the network are 5g. About 85% of their sites have n41, n25, and n71. 93% of traffic is on midband.  SA is also adding to their performance advantage, which they figure is still ahead of other carriers by two years. It took two weeks to put the auction 108 spectrum to use at their existing sites. Mention was also made that their site spacing was designed for midrange thus no gaps in n41 coverage, while competitors was designed for lowband thus toggles back and forth for n77.
    • The manual network selection sounds like it isn't always scanning NR, hence Dish not showing up. Your easiest way to force Dish is going to be forcing the phone into NR-only mode (*#*#4636#*#* menu?), since rainbow sims don't support SA on T-Mobile.
    • "The company’s unique multi-layer approach to 5G, with dedicated standalone 5G deployed nationwide across 600MHz, 1.9GHz, and 2.5GHz delivers customers a consistently strong experience, with 85% of 5G traffic on sites with all three spectrum bands deployed." Meanwhile they are very close to a construction deadline in June for 850Mhz of mmWave in most of Ohio iirc. No reported sightings.
    • T-Mobile Delivers Industry-Leading Customer, Service Revenue and Profitability Growth in Q1 2024, and Raises 2024 Guidance https://www.t-mobile.com/news/business/t-mobile-q1-2024-earnings — — — — — I find it funny that when they talk about their spectrum layers they're saying n71, n25, and n41. They're completely avoiding talking about mmWave.
    • Was true in my market. Likely means a higher percentage of 5g phones in your market.
