I don't think it's a local issue, as I'm having issues with the stock messaging app too with both sending and receiving MMS messages.

Aw, does Josh miss his iMessage with all of his iPhone friends?

:P

I didn't say that, but I am definitely going to write a thorough review of my reattempt to try Android that I plan to post to the wall in February when I go back to using my iPhone.

I don't think root is required for adb usage but I wouldn't know as I haven't run a rooted device except during the first few minutes of activation.

I'm assuming you meant unrooted device? But I'll try it before I root it tonight. Its not a big deal as no one here has had any luck with the other bands and I'm just testing this thing out for a few days. Only thing I don't like so far is speaker vs gn2 other than that good to go so far.

The 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 updates include several nice fixes including a huge speaker volume improvement. Update to 4.4.2 before rooting, because you will have to do it over again anyway.

Sometimes I have noticed that my N5 will not be able to find LTE (bare with me I don't think this is CSFB related) and then on cycling the radio it is unable to connect to any signal at all.  3G or LTE.  When this happens I don't think that the phone is scanning for LTE, and then on the cycle it is not scanning for 3G or LTE.

Has anyone else seen this?  Seems like a resetting the phone is the only thing that fixes it for me.

I saw the behavior nice while traveling. Nothing would make it find a signal other than a reset. I sort of chalked it up to having tri-band enabled, but maybe not.

I'm trying to better understand the eCSFB / Band 41 issue with the Nexus 5.  It appears that the device itself is able to get Band 41, a couple confirmations on this forum to prove it.  The reason I'm asking is because in my market we have quite a few confirmed Band 41 sites via an LG G2.  Shouldn't this phone be experiencing the same issues as me when it relates to eCSFB?  Am I missing something?  I understand we should take all B41 connections with a grain of salt because we do not have an official Spark update, I'm just wondering how that would occur.

Cannot wait to experience the 60 Mb speeds that show up in Sensorly in areas I can barely use 3g, :D.

Thank you for your help in advance.

It has been extremely annoying. Are you guys on the 4.4 radio or the 4.4.1/4.4.2 radio? I want to identify some cause for this if we can. I am on the 4.4 radio.

Have you considered that the cause was already figured out and the radio update in 4.4.1/2 addressed this?  FWIW though I do not see any issues.

Certainly, but I don't know that to be the case based solely on what I have seen.
