Can anyone tell me if there device on TNX is allowing to use CA with tmobile or sprint b41? Mine doesn't but TNA still let's you on Sprint or Tmo.

I’m not sure either. But a very good question.

I have not seen CA on either with TNX.  CA on Sprint B41 is reduced to 2X around here as well.  Where the "magic" happens is n41 NSA. So far, I have not seen very fast speeds out of n41 SA.

is VoNR a thing yet?  when connected to n71, if a call happens, the device drops over to band 71 LTE to make the call and then switches back to 5G n71.  If I use samsung band selector and lock the device to n71 and do a call, the phone does not switch away from 5G and continues to reflect n71 but i dont have a way to know if that is just the phone not knowing what to show since it is band locked.

It depends on the device, and what the carrier_policy file from the ROM dictates. On devices still receiving updates, they'll probably enable it. Older ones not. For example, the Pixel 1 has b41 disabled entirely with a T-mobile SIM. No way to enable it without a software update, which won't come.

On newer devices, they typically leave all bands enabled, but limit the carrier aggregation combos that a device will use/report based on the SIM and PLMN. Since T-mobile didn't use B41 before, they probably don't enable those CA combos. But they should get enabled with an Android update for the device at some point. They still don't have all the CA combos correct on my Pixel 4 XL, but thankfully I can enable them all with EFS Explorer until then.

The reason why they limit CA combos reported by the device is because the LTE signaling message where the device reports it's capabilities has a max size. With modern devices, the number of supported combos exceeds the message size, and gets truncated, resulting in your device potentially not using supported combos on the network. So instead they limit the device to report only a subset of combos based on the PLMN. The downside to this is if a new band is deployed, the devices needs a software update to enable it for that PLMN.

Fully modernized T-Mobile site colocated with Sprint in Denver, CO. 694Mbps with 80Mhz of N41. Not bad.

Lots of N41 antennas around Denver. Saw nearly every T-Mobile sight I could spot along I-70 in far west Denver, and along 6th to just south of Downtown with N41 antennas. Both original and updated antenna versions. My phone wouldn't let me connect to most of them for some reason. So either they were new, or we were moving too fast, or idk what.

Did find another fully modernized T-Mobile site at Iliff and Oneida that I was able to test. Has 80Mhz of N41 on air, 10Mhz of N71, 5Mhz B71, 5Mhz B12, 15Mhz B2, and 10Mhz B66. Site is co-located with a Sprint B25/26/41 site.

694Mbps down and 64Mbps up... not bad!

That’s what they’re doing in Phoenix to all the sites that can handle all that equipment. I wonder what they are going to do with flagpole sites and the small cap assemblies they put on metal power transmission poles. Those are usually only B66 because they are so skinny. I guess we will see, awful lot of those here in the suburbs for aesthetic reasons.

The town I live in in a different state there was a flagpole site T-Mobile came in and modified the flagpole site and it works very well now has all the proper bands as well.

Is there a DL speed cap on TNX?  I haven't ever gotten better than 160Mbps DL on N41 aggregated with 20x20 B66 even when near a tower in the middle of the night.    Almost seems like a software cap as speeds quickly approach 160 then just flatten out.

I haven't posted in a while.. mainly because I haven't been able to add much to the conversation... but I want to share this [from my note 20 5g]... then I'll switch to my tablet with keyboard so I can type out the things I'm seeing.

So...After 1 1/2 year of the GN10+ with Sprint sim...I finally had to switch due to ...well just wanting to see if TMO worked really. I shouldve just stayed where I was honestly...so disappointed....TMO still doesn't have service around my home... I knew that 12 years ago when I went from TMO to Sprint...because literally one day TMO worked fine, then next day they didnt. TMO allowed their roaming agreement with AT&T to expire on the tower that is 1 mile from my house...and service literally went to sh*t...like, over night.

So not much has changed. We got the Galaxy note 20 5G(not ultra)...and they made me get the TMO SIM... (or that's what they sent with it).

RIght off the bat, I see that I can no longer ##72786# on my dialer...so I have no way to force the network refresh that used to fix my problems...living on a fringe service area for Sprint...I would just fix the issues myself instead of bothering CSR on the phone... So if anyone knows the dialer codes for TMO...please let me know. It sucks to be stuck with no wifi calling, no mobile signal...and the message that I can only make emergency calls ...

The other problem that I have is...for years now I've had an airave with Sprint. Living on that fringe area...I've needed to have an airave..and it worked fine.

When I spoke to GS in Magic Box management ....he told me that i was on the line where their license wouldn't allow them to send me a Magic Box ...so he instead sent me a type of Airave device. It isn't listed on my account, and it doesn't make the traditional "beep" prior to a phone call connecting..but it does enhance B41 data speeds...

Now I spoke with the CSR yesterday who informed me that I couldn't receive a Pebble because it only works with Sprint SIMs...and won't do anything for TMO service/SIM...

He suggested that I wait 24 hours to let the provisioning fully take affect on my new phones and promised that I would see a difference. I woke up in the middle of the night, last night..and checked to see if could still make a wifi call..nope. For whatever reason...wifi calling will work for a little while, then it stops...and mobile has nothing but AT&T B2.. so I get nothing but data with my wifi connection. Yesterday the same thing happened. I had to drive up the road 4 miles to my fire dept, where I know for sure Tmo service works well (B71)... and let the phones activate. Once they  activated, I went back home. After I got home, Wifi calling worked for about 30 minutes just like it should...then it suddenly stopped. Airplane mode did nothing to bring it back...reboot did nothing...so I waited until later..around 8pm last night..and did the same thing. Service came back again...and I went home with the same result on wifi calling --- it worked for a little while but it eventually stopped working and I reverted to getting that "emergency calls only" message.

Can anyone give me some heads up on the dialer codes?Anything that I can do to refresh the network??? Galaxy Note 20 5G.

Thanks guys.

Your site probably only has something like 200 megabit backhaul. I've hit near 1gbps with TNX LTE+ 60MHz N41 on some sites, but some other sites barely break 100mbps at 2AM.

Even with the Note , it is optional to switch to the TMobile sim as you did (and it usually adds no value to do so).  You did not need to do so (although they do push it hard).

So you can switch back to the Sprint sim if you want to, by calling in.

Then you will be on TNA instead of TNX.

TNA is still TMobile by default, like TNX, but at least with TNA you can lock to band 41 with the Samsung Band Selection App and thereby hopefully connect to the Pebble.  However the Pebble would be limited by the reliability of your wifi.  Also Pebble does not support VoLTE until 2 weeks according to what I read.

Wifi Calling also really should work flawlessly.  Most likely the router is not properly configured for Voice QOS.   You may need to get a better router.  It could be your ISP too though.

I think you may want to re-evaluate all your options carefully and talk to Sprint again about them.

Another option is Google Voice.   I would test that out.  I find it better than carrier voice.

I can see it being the router...I have an unreleased wifi 6e router so it may not be working correctly. My ISP is Windstream fiber..1gbs.i have a new firmware to test when we get home from the hospital... right now in the parking lot of the hospital I'm getting great service.. it's just at my house... it's like a dead spot.

It's a horrible time for my wife and I to be having these issues with service. She had a surgery yesterday with an overnight hospital stay..and service at the hospital was great...but then we came home around 12pm today...and found out that her dad has to be admitted to the hospital for  something similar to bradycardia ...or afib... and has to stay overnight tonight with a procedure to shock back the rhythm tomorrow... so trying to keep the phones working is frustrating.

I did try the band selector Samsung app...didn't have much luck with it...the only thing it will for sure lock on is B12 AT&T (which is the tower that's 1 mile away..the same one that Tmo used to have roaming agreements with).

Can anyone tell me what I can look forward to with Tmobile SIM? The 600mhz is in 35150, but the power level must be too low to get all the way to me...it reaches out to about 2-3 miles from my house and drops off. Same for the 700mhz...

Do they plan to turn up some of these sites where they can and move out the Sprint LTE?  I keep hoping something will change where I wake up one day and have great service and can do all the stuff that everyone else is privy to...but I know after 12 years with Sprint service...that's a pipe dream and not likely to come to fruition.  Of that 12 years with Sprint...11.5 of those years was spent using an Airave. I had the very first Airave that was Samsung branded...and I still have one sitting in the corner right now... Got an email around October saying I needed to dispose of it because "Tmo is great now"....and they removed it from my account.

Thanks.

I tried that...tried *#*#873283#, ##873283##, it's not for the Note 20 5G...

The wifi calling, I don't understand...Does wifi calling touch a tower at all..or does it route everything to the wifi connection for the call?  It amazes me that after going to town (where I connect to some very good 600/700mhz 5G signal) I have wifi calling for about 20-30 minutes. Maybe even an hour. Then it just goes away.. Might go away on mine...or my wife...or both...but it just quits...and I get the "no mobile network" error...

SCP shows IWLAN..but then says the provider is AT&T. I'm on my PC so I'll add a SS by editing this post from my cell...

I would think that if I'm on Wifi calling, it would show the provider as T-mobile...but maybe not. Never paid much attention to it...

I also don't see anything on my account details page about wifi calling, but it has worked for me since I got the two note 20's (3 days ago)...so I know it's capable of using wifi calling. Just something about being out of service area and trying to use it.  I'm leaning towards going back to Sprint SIM on at least one of the two phones (either me or my wife)... just to have a working phone. I'm not sure Tmobile can solve this network connectivity issue quickly/easily..if at all for me in this area..unless they do turn up the 600 power so that it stretches another 3-4 miles towards me..

Dreaming/wishful thinking I suppose..but I hate to switch both SIMs back to Sprint and miss out of the possible upgrades that might happen around me.  Seems as though they are moving rather quickly towards getting the network combined.

WIFI calling is just that "over wifi" Think voip for your cell in your house.. Once you leave your wifi radius, it should kick to normal cell towers, unless you have neighbors wifi logins all down the street?? hahahaha

"IWLAN" displays on some devices when Wi-Fi Calling is active; you can also see that it is active by the Wi-Fi Calling icon lit up in SCP (the handset with the radio beams). The -24 signal is an Android bug that appears on some devices when you're on a non-LTE, non-CDMA connection (HSPA/HSDPA/HSUPA/UMTS/etc) -- I'm trying to implement a workaround for it, but the other cell info displaying should be valid.
