  1. Shades of Sprint Nextel? T-Mobile to intro 5G PTT service in April
  2. T-Mobile is mentioned in the second to last paragraph. "SpaceX is aiming to launch the cellular Starlink system for T-Mobile customers later this year, first to support text messages. But the company still needs full approval from the FCC to operate the cellular Starlink technology commercially. " FCC Lets SpaceX Expand Testing of Cellular Starlink for Phones
  3. I have a current iPhone. It has a setting Cellular->Voice&Data where I can specify "5G Standalone". If I turn that on an additional setting becomes available "Voice Over 5G Standalone". If I turn on 5G Standalone, Field Test typicall shows NSA and sometimes SA+NSA. To me there is no perceptible difference outside of Field Test. I live in Chicagoland and I never experience any issues so what settings would be best in my situaltion? I figure if anyone knows the right answer it would be one of the folks who hang out here. Thanks in advance, J PS. If this isn't the place to discuss this please move as necessary.

  11. I did exactly this with my iPhone. I went with Visible as backup and was very skeptical about doing so based on comments on Reddit. But after almost a year Visible has been problem free for me (knock on wood). And that includes upgrading my eSIM only iPhone last September. Visible is a Verizon owned provider and at the time I signed up I had two options. (1) Their standard plan subject to deprioritization and all the MVNO negativities or (2) their "Plus" plan with fewer negativities. So for $35/mo for my one line it isn't a bad deal. Full disclosure, their support is pretty much nonexistant and they have no physical store presence so I don't thing I would ever use them as my primary provider but for a Verizon backup to T-Mobile it's been working fine the very few times I've needed it.
  12. I think this is a fairly good thing for T-Mo. Opensignal Mobile Network Experience Report JANUARY 2024
  13. For iPhone users the buy direct from Apple is a good option. Especially if you upgrade every year as Apple will give you a very competitive trade-in for your 1 yr old iPhone. Plus the phones are unlocked from day one so if you ever decide to switch carriers it's very simple. I have no idea if Samsung etc. have similar offerings. J

  20. Personally I am a anti paperless proponent. Im at the stage in life where if something happens to me my wife would not have the ability to access an online bill and unless it's paired with auto pay the bill won't get paid. So far most/all of the vendors I have try to get me to go paperless but so far none have switched without overt action on my part. Some web sites are getting sneaky buy disguising the the paperless button to some degree to make one who only looks casually think it's the opposite function.
