So what is this update supposed to fix? If there's not a new radio I'm either waiting for an ota(if there is one) or just going to put it off for awhile.

New radio and probably a kernel patch for towelroot. We'll know more when AOSP is updated.

Anyone wanna test drive the radio? I'm going to fire it up now and do some measurements.

Edit: Why is the N5 listed as LTE/GSM on the factory image page?

I would like to, but I'm trying to remember how to flash this. I always use the zips....

after you have extracted the files..

adb reboot-bootloader

fastboot flash bootloader <bootloaderfile.img>
fastboot reboot-bootloader

fastboot flash radio <radiofile.img>
fastboot reboot-bootloader

fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img

No new bootloader, so there is no need to flash it. Also no need to reboot-bootloader in between radio and boot/system.

No need to flash new bootloader, right?

Edit: Stressing NEED.

I don't know I always do it so it matches the factory image exactly... it only takes seconds...

those are (edited) commands straight out of the flashall.bat file, so if google says for me to do it, ima gonna do it.

Took them many many months for an update and now a second one within a few weeks.  Crazy.  And a new radio, that shocked me.

Limited testing...  B25 is about the same.  I'm going to go for a ride in a bit and see how B26 performs.

Thanks, I'm all flashed up now.  Really appreciate it.

EDIT: Trying xposed module now...

1.16 looks pretty good. I can't compare it to .23, .17, or 1.13, but on Band 25 it's only about 6 dbm worse than .15. I don't have any B26 or B41 here though, so y'all will have to test that for me.

It looks like EVDO performance is very close to and 1x800 performance is slightly better (4ish dbm) than .15's.

So far my results is about the same as yours. I'm about to go for a ride and a sec and see how it performs in places I frequent most.

A .03 bump is not going to change performance very much at all. You're seeing normal variation in signal.

This. The changes may not even be related to Sprint. They could be T-Mobile specific, or GSM in general. Let's not forget that the Nexus 5 is first and foremost a GSM phone, and the fact that it works at all on Sprint is, for all intents and purposes, gravy.
