EvanA
Where do you see that? I don't see a radio file in the extracted factory image. In the extracted factory image.... Factory images always have all of the components.
EvanA
So what is this update supposed to fix? If there's not a new radio I'm either waiting for an ota(if there is one) or just going to put it off for awhile. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk New radio and probably a kernel patch for towelroot. We'll know more when AOSP is updated.
rgcrockett
Oh geez, sorry I downloaded the wrong file. My apologies. Please ignore me. I do see a new radio. 2.0.50.1.16 indeed.
caspar347
Anyone wanna test drive the radio? I'm going to fire it up now and do some measurements. Edit: Why is the N5 listed as LTE/GSM on the factory image page?

EvanA
after you have extracted the files.. adb reboot-bootloader fastboot flash bootloader <bootloaderfile.img> fastboot reboot-bootloader fastboot flash radio <radiofile.img> fastboot reboot-bootloader fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot flash system system.img No new bootloader, so there is no need to flash it. Also no need to reboot-bootloader in between radio and boot/system.

dedub
I don't know I always do it so it matches the factory image exactly... it only takes seconds... those are (edited) commands straight out of the flashall.bat file, so if google says for me to do it, ima gonna do it.

swintec
just flashed new radio only. limited testing not as good as .15 still.
uecker87
Took them many many months for an update and now a second one within a few weeks. Crazy. And a new radio, that shocked me. Limited testing... B25 is about the same. I'm going to go for a ride in a bit and see how B26 performs.

caspar347
1.16 looks pretty good. I can't compare it to .23, .17, or 1.13, but on Band 25 it's only about 6 dbm worse than .15. I don't have any B26 or B41 here though, so y'all will have to test that for me. It looks like EVDO performance is very close to and 1x800 performance is slightly better (4ish dbm) than .15's. A .03 bump is not going to change performance very much at all. You're seeing normal variation in signal.
oldblue910
A .03 bump is not going to change performance very much at all. You're seeing normal variation in signal.This. The changes may not even be related to Sprint. They could be T-Mobile specific, or GSM in general. Let's not forget that the Nexus 5 is first and foremost a GSM phone, and the fact that it works at all on Sprint is, for all intents and purposes, gravy.
