Boy sucks to have a Nexus 5 then. Is there any way at all to update your PRL? Did anyone update their PRL on the Galaxy Nexus?

If you just want to update your PRL and Profile go to Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Carrier Settings.

Do you have a screenshot? So there is an option to Write PRL?

tried that... after reboot, sprint settings are still there.

What if you don't put anything at all in there. Just remove the numbers for the IP address and Port entirely and leave it blank and then try to reset and see what happens.

no, that is just the sprint update prl method.

there is no known way to manually choose a prl on the n5 so far (within android itself).

Went to visit a sprint store again today. I was very curious about how texting would work with the eCSFB during a data session.  i ran a speedtest on the nexus 5 while i texted it from another phone and i was very impressed. the speedtest kept going like nothing happened and the text came IMMEDIATELY. The LTE symbol stayed the whole time. I'm hopeful this will fix sprints texting issue since many times texts come in late on devices i have used but come in immediately on the nexus 5

Great idea for a test!  I was wondering how this would affect text messages as well.  Few things are more annoying than delayed texts lol.

My understanding of eCSFB is that SMS can be delivered via LTE.

if that's the case then that's beautiful! I can't count how times I've had late messages and this looks like it would at least help with that

I just finished reading some of the documentation on how eCSFB works. The 1x paging channel is actually tunneled onto the LTE S102 interface.

The UE never leaves LTE to receive an SMS.

I wonder how this would perform on saturated LTE airlink sites, the ones that pull 4000-5000ms pings during the day.  Curious if the phone call would come through in time or if there was some sort of QOS setup on the sector to make sure you get through before the voicemail picks up.

Correct.  That was my understanding, too.  The only ambiguity was whether the SMS notification or the actual SMS itself is tunneled through LTE.  But I think we have plenty of solid evidence for the latter.

Bwahaha then forget SVLTE that is awesome!  The only reason I really liked SVDO or SVLTE is because streaming anything always interfered with my text messages lol.

AJ, how long have you been holding out on us with this wonderful news lol?

question....so if a phone is connected to LTE it isn't polling the tower like it would on 1x right?

I have had the info for about a week.  I discussed it with Robert the other day.  But as I indicated in the post up the page, I was not certain that I interpreted the standard correctly.  So, I did not want to post potentially inaccurate info.

Hey, does anyone know a quicker/easier way to sell my HTC One besides craigslist or ebay?

If this isnt ok please delete post.

You are selling it???  The HTC One is probably the pinnacle of Android handset design, maybe even of all handset design for the foreseeable future.  Mine will be "parked in the garage" soon, but it is going nowhere.  It is a museum piece.

I know, I'm trying to sell my S4 with no luck. Swappa.com is another site to try though.

We now have confirmation that the Nexus 5 is not slated to receive its Spark software update until early next year.  The Samsung and HTC handsets will receive their updates tomorrow.

Aaaaargh

LG.  Sprint has a much closer relationship with Samsung and HTC.

AJ

So, Google carries no more weight with Sprint? They used to be so cozy back when they began gvoice integration.  Maybe there was some fallout related to Clearwire investments/non-investments.  I know the Nexus is made by LG, but Nexus should equal Google (or maybe not)

Best news I've heard all day really

Hopefully it will mostly be a launch on the network side and profile/icon update on the devices.
