You have to press power button and volume down at the same exact time, is a little harder because the buttons are next to each other and is not an issue is just takes practice

I've found that if you hit the power button just slightly before the volume down button, you don't have the volume bar issue. You don't have to hit them at the exact same time.

Somewhat disappointed with LGs build quality. Dropped my phone face first on concrete. I expected it to shatter. It has a few cracks but what got me is that the screen no longer responds to touch. I wouldn't think a couple cracks would do that

I can't stand having a case on this phone. It's just too bulky. I know I should, but I just can't do it.

Definitely frustrating seeing how my sisters iPhone with pieces of the screen falling out still works smh. But that's what I get for having no case

I hear ya. The one and only time I drop a phone (well, more of it was knocked out of my hands) it completely shatters. In 5 years, first time something like that happened. I have to send the broken one back, but with the screen not working, not sure how to wipe my data off of it. (Not rooted).

I thought so as well...but these phones are so slick, and with my smallish hands, the bulk and rubber actually help.....plus i just put it in my back pocket...

now unless your wearing skinny jeans

Same here, I hate cases but of course the one time i drop mine this happens.

I hate bulky cases too, but I use this slim snap on case that doesn't add very much bulk.

I like this TPU case better than plastic ones. adds no bulk and the headphone jack works fine even with my headphones that have a thick base on the plug.

I think for wiping data you can use ADB commands over USB

A couple questions

1. What is the feel of the case (slippery or grippy)

2. Can a audio cable plug into the bottom without having to remove the case?

it's more slippy than grippy.

audio cable is no problem. it had a big cut out to accommodate even a large plug.

the case is skin tight if that makes sense. adds almost zero bulk to the phone. it does provide a lip on the front so if you dropped it face down on a smooth surface, the glass won't hit.

  • 2 weeks later...

PRL 51104 is now out. Anyone find out the changes between 03 and 04, I posted in the PRL post also. Not sure if galaxy s5 and G2 also get new PRL, I'm sure it's coming though.

Sent from my LGLS990

The G2 is running the 51104 prl as well just got it about an hour ago on mine.

The s5 doesn't have it yet. I just did two PRL updates and it still on 51103. Maybe they are phasing it by device?I dunno if PRL updates go the same as patch updates or all at once.

Sent from my LGLS990

The G2 gust got pushed back to the 51103 for some reason not sure why.

Weird. Now I'm curious if I should hit update again on G3 and see if it rolls back....I'm not rooted so I can't pull the PRL before doing it.

Edit:

Tried update and it's not rolling back on G3. Maybe they found a problem with the G2...

    • Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....
    • Welcome back! That's similar to my best (1250ish). A few people have broken 2000 on good sites.
    • Lots of new multi-carrier nodes popping up in Bushwick. Crown Castle Fiber node at Ridgewood & Palmetto:   Crown Castle Solutions node at Irving & Jefferson:   Crown Castle Solutions node at Wilson & Noll:
    • I’m surprised they’re running a 5x5 Band 66 carrier still. In NYC T-Mobile has 25x25 AWS and they’re running 20x20 Band 66 and 5x5 n66 (in testing). Presumably when n66 commercially launches they’ll drop Band 66 down to 15x15 and go straight for a 10x10 n66 carrier like they did with n25.
    • Austin has now narrowed B2 to 15x15 to support a second 10x10 n25 channel, this time entirely in PCS A-F. So T-Mobile now has 35x35 FD (n71 + n25) and 180 MHz TD (n41) NR live here, and LTE single carrier bandwidth now tops out at 15x15. LTE is down to 5x5 B12, 15x15 B2, 10x10+10x10+5x5 B66, so they now have 5 carriers each of LTE and NR, with 45x45 total LTE.
