I'm not sure why it would be missing.

That's definitely an odd thing.

Of those using it, I've noticed that between the GS5, and my G3 the past 2 days...wifi calling sounds MUCH, MUCH better.

Is the chip in the g3 better than the 8974 thats in the s5?

Dumb question, wife's S5 has wifi calling per the latest update and I didn't know if it supports HD voice.  It sounds like the call quality is BETTER w/ wifi calling?  What are your opinions?  I realize this is the G3 thread, but the latest talk has been about it.

Thanks.

EDIT: Feel free to move this comment if necessary.

The S5 and the G3 both support HD Voice over CDMA. Therefore cellular HD Voice calls should interconnect regardless of handset. As for Voice over WiFi, I suspect that's running a different codec, but I have no way of verifying this. File under "unproven hypothesis."

Thank you for the response.  I guess we'll have to wait and see if someone connects and checks the engineering screen to see what it does.  How does SCP act?

So I got to see LG g3 and the Sprint store today and it is a lot smaller than I had anticipated I put it side by side with my HTC One max and the max completely dwarfed it. I'm not a fan of the lightness to width personally. I'm sad I don't like it as much as I thought I would.

Where in the bloody heck do I insert the sd card?

There is a place where I think it goes, but there is a small white card-type thing already in there.  I'm assuming that is the micro sim.  I absolutely see no place to insert the sd card.

Appreciate the help.

I did not assume.  I made a logical inference.  He has satellite broadband for his house.  He dislikes satellite broadband and wants to use LTE instead.  Put two and two together.

Just playing devil's advocate here, I would have to say your conclusion can't be definite by any means. You did not ask him if he would rather use LTE all the time for whatever he needs, just for the phone, and turn wi-fi off on the phone. If you have unlimited data, why couldn't this be a perfectly fair 2+2=4 as well for Netflix, music streaming, etc? This could hypothetically free up more bandwidth for his other devices. Maybe you're right, maybe you're not; however, without asking the guy, you can only assume / hypothesize. I'm not calling anyone out in a negative way, I'm just looking at what anyone could truly determine from his post in this respect.

On a thread-related note, has anyone upgraded to the G3 on SERO so far? Just curious to see if you had difficult or easy experiences and if difficult, what was the end result that made it happen. TIA! It really seems like Sprint has tied their retentions department up and made it part of their regular CSR world, making it impossible to get any help on upgrading a device at a lower cost (wife just wants a 5C, not expecting help on the G3 of course).

Picked up one online and another in a corporate store (both lines on Sero) with no problems. Also, the manager initially called in thinking she'd have to swap my plan then swap back to Sero, but that turned out to not be the case. She said the double plan change wasn't necessary, because I had a G2 on the line and the product codes were similar enough.

PS - My plan is still intact :)

Appreciate the fast responses in regards to the sd card slot.  It appears as if my card unseated.  I probably didn't have it in there securely the first time.

Has anyone come across any dialer codes for the engineering screen?

Signal Check Pro doesn't/can't display the frequency of LTE I'm on.

Thanks again

It's official: I've jumped back to the dark-side! Just picked up my new gold LG G3! Don't miss my iPhone 5 at all (yet). It's good to be back on the Android platform.

Noooooooooooooo..... I mean if I win the free one on the youtube contest which is almost impossible, i would switch to the dark side too... [emoji16]

I still have my iPhone. I will hold onto it for a few weeks. If the iPhone 6 blows my mind, I'll buy it. [emoji12] until then, I'm loving this G3. Its a beast.

It's also nice to be able to use Signal Check Pro as well!!

I got the Amazon app working on my device. It's just not showing up on the playstore. Just made a purchase, too. Transferred my apps backup from the G2 to G3.

This device works very nicely but I'm hoping to get root soon. I need me my mods.

How are you guys checking which band you're on? Signal check pro isn't/can't display that info and I can't access the engineering screen either.

Signal Check shouldn't be having any problems. LGs report all the relevant information.
