  1. That's a great question. The First rep said Sprint needed to send a "PLBL" to the phone to unlock it from Sprint's Network. I was flabbergasted. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. My wife has a Google Pixel XL (original) that Is activated on Sprint. When we received our Google Fi SIM cards, I inserted the SIM and tried to activate the phone on Fi. It was unsuccessful. Code # D003 or D0003. The First rep checked and said the Pixel had to be unlocked from Sprint. The following day Sprint sent an unlock signal (not sure how that works) and it was unsuccessful. The Fi SIM was still in the phone. Later that evening I put the Sprint SIM back in and since that time Sprint has sent several unlock signals to the phone, all unsuccessful. Sprint is still trying to send unlock signals. The phone is powered on, with the Sprint SIM installed. She can currently send/receive calls/texts/data. I am trying to figure out why the unlock signals are all failing. Anyone run into this issue or possibly shed some light on what we can do to get it unlocked from Sprint? Would greatly appreciate any help. Jeff Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  3. That's an excellent question. You answered it with your second-to-last sentence. Subjective to each user/buyer. A few of the reasons I chose to pay for the upgrade from a 6p, in no particular order: Display; bigger, brighter Unlimited Google Photos storage 3 years of software updates (and assuming a year or two after that of monthly security patches) Camera improvements (hardware) Radio/connectivity upgrades My wife and I have an upgrade cycle in which we budget for, and works for us. There may be more things I could add to this later, but these are the things that come to mind quickly. Honestly, I asked myself the question you posed over the past few weeks.
  4. David, You certainly are right, my home tower must not have B41. B25 speeds on that tower are perfectly acceptable to me, if memory serves, it's usually between 8-20mbps. It's pretty rare for our wifi to go out. Anytime I'm out in the yard or neighborhood I'm able to stream/etc. without issue. The different tower explains the low B41 signal strength. Out of curiosity, would you expect the tower at 7 Highway & Cowherd to get B41 in the future? Thanks as always for the knowledge.
  5. Rumored price to be $849 per Android Central. Extremely competitive market, with only a single camera, I'd expect 64GB of on-board storage for that price. We shall see 2 weeks from tomorrow. UPDATE: Android Police reports have 64gb at $849, 128gb at $949. I'm good with 64gb and add the cost of Pixel Protect. I learned the hard way with my Nexus 6P.
  6. @DkoellerwxSorry I haven't posted this sooner David. I'm pretty sure this is my home tower; (South 7 Highway & Cowherd Road). It's maybe 400 yards away. If I'm connecting to another tower, I sure don't know where it is.
  7. David, It certainly has B41. What would you like for confirmation?
  8. David, I'm pretty sure. I know to not go by the tiny 2 or 3 in SCP, but I don't think it does. It's the tower at South 7 Highway and Cowherd Road. Please not I'm not complaining about coverage. I'm happy with it.
  9. Shattered the screen on my Google-purchased 6P on launch day. Paid to replace the screen. Started having severe battery issues in the spring and contacted Google. No problem at all, they sent me a refurb 6P, then sent mine in after I got the replacement. Still a great device
  10. Maybe it's possible to get carrier-specific abilities in the Carrier Services app. Last year at this time I would definitely say it isn't possible.
  11. Well, you know how some folks are around here about that kind of thing. I haven't read anything on S4GRU with any live 4CA sites, but I don't get around to all of the threads. My home site is an old clear site, no 2xCA for me on that one.
  12. Thank you very much for your time converting the diagram into something I can read. Are these good/great? I've read some folks asking about 4X CA on B41. Is that a huge loss?
  13. Only a guess... Possibly too far along in the production process to add. I'm clueless as to what goes into the antenna engineering.
  14. Here are the FCC numbers. I'm unable to read documents with white backgrounds, so can someone share the nuts and bolts of what this document is telling us? Credit goes to the FCC; picture taken from DroidLife
  15. Pixel XL 2 passes through the FCC. LG is confirmed as the manufacturer. I would like to get the RF numbers. Reveal/announcement date has changed to 10.04.17.
  16. Since Tapatalk is a no-go, is there a way to change colors & font size on the mobile site? My needs as a visually disabled person is strikingly different than that of a normal user. Thanks!
  17. I didn't download. I have to run a custom ROM. If you know the name of the download folder, I'll download it next time the notification pops.

    LG V30

This collection of words is correct! You win the interwebs today. Congrats
  19. I received an update notification yesterday for 8.0
  20. OP updated: Processor correction (Qualcomm states there is no 836 processor) Storage & color options IP rating & always-on display
  21. Early and brief hands-on with LG's V30 shows promise for the display of the P2X. Android Police, Android Central, and The Verge all like the OLED display on the V30. David Ruddock at Android Police noticed some banding, while writers at Android Central & The Verge didn't mention any banding. Looking good for the P2X, but Samsung OLED's are still the king. I'm sure there is some tweaking and fine-tuning to be done. I'm extremely interested in a great OLED display.
  22. Announcement isn't until October 5. If anything is announced or leaked about band support, please share.
  23. I'm eager to see how the display on the LG V30 is received by the tech horde and users. I'd wager the OLED panel used on the V30 will be the same panel used on the P2X.
  24. Google Pixel 2 XL (Taimen), expected to be announced on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Reported specs: 5.99" OLED display (manufactured by LG Display) Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 processor CORRECTION: Snapdragon 835 4GB RAM No 3.5mm headphone jack Slim, bezel-less design, much like the LG G6 Dual front facing speakers Squeezable frame, similar to the HTC U11 Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS Options include: 64gb & 128gb storage; "Just Black" & "Black & White" IP68 water & dust resistance Always-on display Reported pricing; 64gb $849, 128gb $949 I wouldn't be surprised by a dual camera setup. I'm extremely interested in HPUE, 4x4 MIMO, etc. I would expect Sprint to maintain their BYOD policy they have had the past several years. I've been saving since purchasing the Nexus 6P, so I'm purchasing on announcement day (if forms holds over the past several years) Hoping for a smaller price tag than Samsung's Note 8, or at least some additional accessories thrown in like Samsung has done. Anyone else interested in this device?
