I just got updated to ZVE and went into ##DATA# and noticed that the BSRTimer was still at 3000.  I thought it was supposed to update that?

Same here just updated to ZVE about 7 hrs ago or so and mine still at 3000 as well.

To the people reporting poor Band 25 reception.   Did you enable Band 26 and Band 41?   Maybe Sprint was already ahead of you on this and you actually are causing the problem?   Maybe they made

If you guys know your msl go in there and change. If you don't know it call Sprint and get it.

After updating my phone to ZVE, my BSRTimer was as 1 (in the view mode).  BUT I don't have my MSL, so I don't know what it actually is....

I think the general consensus a few pages back was to change it to 3.

weird i went to go change it and it was 3 but was still showing 3000 for some reason. but its showing correctly now after that.

Mine was the same when I updated to ZVD. So you should be good now.

Yeah, I've rooted it and flashed a few Roms already. Every ROM so far has GPS working. (Stock ZVD, AICP, SlimROM, and Liquidsmooth.)

Received my G2 back from LG yesterday. They said they found no problem with the GPS. Hmmmmm. It started working again right before I sent it in. It'll probably fail again after a few weeks of use like it always does. Since they put a new board and new screen in last time, it's probably the connectors on the back cover for the GPS antenna. What a poor design!

Did the ZVE update help with GPS locks and the consistency?

 

I ultimately gave up on the LG G2, begrudgingly. I had bought the Verizon variant (VS980) on sale back when Big Red first unveiled their new prepaid plan. I really, really, really liked the LG G2, but GPS locks were taking 1-2 minutes sometimes. That's a deal breaker in DC and Baltimore. You can't pullover on the shoulder to wait on a GPS fix because the driver's here are lunatics lol. So, I asked to make a return well after their 14-day return policy and they refunded me my money. Granted, I was still in my 60 day window which I could dispute the transaction on my credit card.

 

Anyways, I'm glad to see better results on the Sprint variant.

Works good for me on stock ZVE. Ever since the repair took place I've had consistent GPS. Only other time I had issue was on custom ROMs.

That's basically the same as what happened with me. They poorly designed the LG G2 in that regard.

 

I've heard good things about the LG G3 GPS performance on other forums too. In addition, my Nexus 5 also had GPS issues, but after sending it back to Google for RMA, I got a replacement back that works right. So, maybe it was a growing pain at LG?

 

I'm planning on keeping my Nexus 5 since the GPS actually works. I'll hold out on the Nexus 6 until it comes down in price. I'm done with buying new phones for a while lol.

I definitely don't blame you for holding off on buying new phones.  Unfortunately the consumers are the new "Beta Testers".  The manufacturers slop this stuff out on the market faster than they bother to test it.  The consumers report the issues, and if we are lucky, the manufacturer may fix it. 

 

I can't believe that LG could not duplicate the GPS issue with my particular unit on its second repair trip to Texas.  The first repair, they replaced a board and the screen (which I didn't even think had an issue). 

 

It was a real shame with the G2.  It was the perfect size for me.  Eventually, LG got it sounding pretty good as well with all the updates, but without the GPS it is a no go for me! 

 

I guess, I'll use it for a trade-in sometime soon, or sell it on ebay fully disclosing the issue with it.

It's weird, I've read a lot about people with GPS issues but I've never had the problem with mine. I use GPS quite a bit and always seem to get very quick results, equal to my S3.

I do remember the horrible GPS on the Epic 4g, and I honestly thought those days were behind us.

Hard to tell in a mature market. I will say that a certain stretch of a road I travel I can maintain the signal where I normally lose it. But I wouldn't go off of that if I were you.

I changed it from 3000 to 3, maybe I should have waited more than a few hours after I got the ZVE update.  I had no problem getting my MSL, I just explained that I needed the number to change the BSR so my LTE would work better and I needed the MSL to do that.

I have had LTE in one of my classes ever since the update. Before that I only got it near the windows, it's nearly an 8dbm difference. And yes, it is and always has been B26.

Ever since the ZVE update, I've noticed that I haven't had as much of problem with he microphone not working and requiring toggle of the Voice enhancement function. Hopefully the issue is resolved.

Nevermind...spoke too soon....it happened again....this is a bug that LG needs to fix..... Ridiculous! Instills no confidence in their products.

With the new update i'm having issues with Quiet Mode not enabling as well the alarm not working. Ah well....

I had the same issue with quiet mode. Took a couple restarts and toggling it on and off.

      Kind of amazing that T-Mobile is still holding onto that speed title despite Verizon all but killing off lowband 5G on their network. While Verizon is mostly being evaluated on mmWave and C-band performance, T-Mobile and AT&T's average 5G speeds include their massive lowband 5G networks that are significantly slower.

      Yup. Very true. We were originally on an Everything Data 1500 Plan, which got Unlimited Minutes thanks to Marcelo's "Loyalty Benefits" offer. We then switched to Unlimited Freedom (with the Free HD add-on that Sprint originally wanted $20/month per line for.... remember that?) because the pricing was better with "iPhone for Life", vs. the "Loyalty Credit" for staying on a Legacy Plan. After that, I ran the numbers and switched us over to Sprint MAX, especially for the international travel benefits. There's absolutely no reason for us to switch to Go5G Plus or Go5G Next if we're going to do BYOD by purchasing from Apple/Samsung/Google directly as we've been doing. These new plans aren't priced for current customers to switch to. They're priced for new customers, where they throw in a free line, etc. It's gone from "Uncarrier" to "Carrier". What a shame.

      Strange business model that they keep around all these pricing plans. 1000s of plans per carrier is reportedly not uncommon.  Training customer support must be a nightmare. Even MVNOs have legacy plans. A downside of their contract mentality I guess. Best to change contracts during a recession. But then all carriers try to squeeze out legacy plan benefits as they grow old.

Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....
