Effective at the beginning of today’s trading session, T-Mobile will trade on the NASDAQ on a combined basis under the ticker symbol “TMUS.” The Sprint shares will no longer trade on the New York Stock Exchange.

I get 10mbs at home. When I experimented with TM on my iPhone eSIM I would get 40mbs.
For the last month or three with one bar I would on occasion get 40mbs on Sprint. 
I just chalked it up to having such a weak Sprint signal I would roam over to TM.
What I don't know is if being in Chicagoland would TM be set up as a Sprint roaming partner.

So I’ve heard two different things now. First I heard before today that on day one it would be reciprocal network sharing on day 1 which is obviously not the case. Then I heard today two somewhat conflicting statements. First that for now users will stay on each separate networks. Then I heard another statement that Sprint users would be able to tap into the T-Mobile network via expanded roaming. Can someone clear up what exactly has changed today if anything?

They did not bid for that in Ohio because they have 800mhz of other mmWave in the metro areas plus surrounding areas.  Much of it is contiguous.

Well I woke up to being connected to tmobile band 4 inside my home instead of 3G. 

 

Also connecting to band 12 at work inside the building which was just band 4 and 2 before. Still capped at 5 down and up but Loving this so far.

I am still dropping to Sprint 3G in a particular spot. Now nobody else has service in that spot except Verizon. So for me it has been status quo.

My understanding from what I've read/heard is that T-Mobile's original Day Zero plan and plan moving forward was much more ambitious in terms of integration. However, given the COVID-19 Pandemic, they've decided to take a more conservative approach post-merger for the next 90 days. We'll see how that changes in the coming weeks/months.

      Thanks for noticing the typo. AI is latest buzzword.  Mention it a lot and your stock price goes up LOL SMH. No doubt more 600MHz is much better than the 800MHz.  Worse case is 800MHz is counted against T-Mobile in spectrum caps and they are not using it.

      No such thing as AI, only models that make things up.  Dumb. Can they keep 800 MHz even if they want to?  I thought that was a condition of the merger.  And I believe they'd have to go install new equipment in support of that 5x5 carrier, which seems like a lot of money and effort for little reward. I have two phones that have n77 enabled but dedicated principally to other bands.  So far, I have yet to see any T-Mobile n77.  It's possible it's set for NSA-only.  I also imagine I would have seen some equipment for it installed. I assume that's backwards; 165 is too large for urban and too small for rural?  - Trip

      https://www.lightreading.com/ai-machine-learning/t-mobile-uses-algorithmic-ai-to-guide-5g-expansion Lots of tidbits in this article: AI determined they did not need 3.45, 800MHz was not saleable so now they are determining whether they will keep it, 60% of their c-band is in use so we need to start hunting for it.  They use 165 meter hexagons to evaluate service. I would argue this is to large for urban areas and too small for rural.

      My guess is that TMo will do the mmWave HSI on 24/28 GHz, as they haven't relinquished the 24 GHz, and for 28 GHz they'll build out closer to the edges of their newly smaller licensed areas if enough people pick up the service.
