Yeah, both Virgin Mobile and Boost are MVNOs nothing to do with core. Now Altice is a facilities based MVNO which means that at some point all data and voice is routed over Altice's core. Nextel???? It is true that Sprint still has legacy CDMA that is routed over it's core but T-Mobile's HSPA+ is also routed our its core network. I think he's just talking out of his behind.

Perfectly said!  Couldn't of put it more eloquently!    Entner is an just an investment analyst... not a network engineer.     Like our buddy (Craig Moffet) at the other investment firm who constantly thinks he knows what is what with Sprint and T Mobile and is constantly putting out mis-information time and time again.       🙄    (Huge rolling eyes!)....   LOL.    Philly is a sort a test market for T-Mo re-configuring and deploying Sprint's spectrum,  from what I understand.  It's not "temporary deployment".... I think T-Mo is totally going through it and and setting it up as a core New T Mobile region.    Just my thoughts.    I think we'll know more in a week or two.

The network we will all be on eventually.  (Core/Host network)    T-Mobile's network is the host network... then when you add the equipment from Sprint, and the frequencies and band width, you end up with the New T Mobile Network.    

Remember 2 years ago... the plan was to add and bulk up the T mobile network... then transition all the Sprint people to the T Mo network.   Sprint's network would be taken apart and equipment and some sites would be reused.    Hope that helps you understand.

Still one public safety licensee and one non-public safety licensee remaining after all this.... Hopeless.

Though they've been dragging their feet, I imagine that the city of El Paso will be taken care of sooner rather than later. License Acquisitions, on the other hand, has been a constant PITA throughout the rebanding process. I'm guessing that they've been hoping for some financial windfall from Sprint in exchange for their cooperation. They've been stalling for years. Whatever it is that they're looking for, they need to just go away at this point.

It seems like he is cherry picking stats for the PR publicity. 

I hope this doesn't result in a ban, but I'm actually genuinely curious as to what their "pornography" numbers look like during the virus outbreak? How has it affected their networks? How much data has been used? One of the more popular porn sites released their numbers by country and you could tell by the spike in their chart the day that country went into curfew 😁.

That is a good question. Probably will never get an official answer from Sprint for that segment, but T-Mobile.... well, maybe from Legere if he was still running things.

If I was responsible for managing US Cellular and wanted to stay in business, I would try to get a very good new roaming agreement with the new T-Mobile.  Even that may not be enough to survive, but that is their best chance to remain in business.

I do wonder how much longer US Cellular will survive, ESPECIALLY now with the Sprint and t-Mobile officially merging.

With all of the hoops that Tmo/Sprint went through, its not even a question. The only liklihood would be new Tmo or Dish. From a federal level, it would be dish to help provide broader scale for them.

I went ahead and upgraded to an S20+ and ported my Sprint line over to T-mobile. They have way more N71 active around Louisville than AT&T has N5. My mapping should start to show up on CellMapper in the coming days. I'll be watching for any Sprint connections.

T-Mobile doesn't play around. When they deploy spectrum or new technology, they deploy.

Sprint would have been a force had it actually deployed the network like they should have and with proper backhaul.

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
