Our new International

Value Roaming just keeps

#gettingbettereveryday!

Overview: On 5/6/15, we’re adding Canada

to our growing list of countries!

Don’t be fooled when someone says we

don’t have as many countries as some

of our competitors. With the addition

of Canada, Sprint now includes 80% of

the most popular destinations for our

customers wanting this service!

International Value Roaming Countries:

» Canada

» Mexico

» United Kingdom

» Germany

» Brazil

» Argentina

» El Salvador

» Guatemala

» Nicaragua

» Spain

» Chile

» Costa Rica

» Panama

» South Korea

» Japan

» Russia

Stay tuned! More countries will be added

very soon and throughout the year!

Wow. They are releasing a lot of stuff ahead of their earnings release next week.

Jug-Jug, that's fantastic! *said like Troy McClure*

It will probably be GSM/WCDMA only in Canada. But that's OK.

While I believe that 80% figure, and the second graph from this NYT article: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/11/travel/where-will-americans-travel-in-2015-.html?_r=0 seems to confirm that, there are some notable countries missing that I hope are some of the ones targeted for inclusion by the end of the year.  Even if they don't match T-Mobile's impressive list of countries, getting France, Italy, China & Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, India, the Bahamas and Caribbean countries, Australia and New Zealand would be huge for business travelers and vacationers.

Less than a month before I take a trip to Toronto in early June. That's good timing.

Activating second carrier (without CA) requires no fit, correct?

Just inserting the card, running a config script and it's online.

As long as 20mhz contiguous is free of WiMAX users, sure. Probably needs backhaul provisioning as well.

Don't know if this was mentioned anywhere on the site yet..

“Sprint started the quarter with 14% of the phone activators in our quarterly survey, and ended the quarter with 17% of them. This almost 25% increase in share of this quarter’s phone activators suggests that their efforts to expand their customer base have started to take hold. Similarly, T-Mobile started the quarter with 19% of the phone activators in the sample, and ended with 22%, for an increase of almost 20%.”

Let's hope this translates to positive postpaid signups, seems like it...

No. You need a fit.

Of course, but it's still just software params right?

to add a carrier without CA?

FIT is done for every major change to configuration before it is widely deployed.

Yes and it's semi simple to do with anyone who has an integration and commissioning document for the site but it isn't as simple as just entering information for 6 carriers to utilize all the spectrum at once.

Extended test periods must always be done for any new settings.

I thought his name was Jub-Jub. something I learned not that long - Selma's pet lizard was Conan O'Brien's idea when he was a writer for The Simpsons.

Just FYI... back to reguarly scheduled discussion

Canada is being added to the free International roaming on 5-6

SWEET. Now I'm definitely planning to head up north to hang out in Toronto for a few days while the exchange rate is low make a side-trip after going to a conference in Rochester in July.

Times like this I'm soooo glad I have Sprint. On my side of town there is a huge recycling factory fire and the power is out. But there is a tmobile and a sprint tower pretty much in the same location of that factory. My parents T-mobile service is shot all the way to calling but my Sprint service is totally fine including LTE.

Well Well well, they need to come to Fort Wayne and do some of these tests. That's awesome for Dayton though!! Go Sprint

Fort Wayne. That is not a really big city. We used to have a member from there named Rukin1. He was banned. Do you know him? That would be crazy, lol.

    • Interesting, I saw this too on my AT&T S22 while roaming on US Cellular. I thought it was an Android bug since CellMapper was doing the same thing (didn't get a screenshot of that one). N66 makes more sense than N1.
    • Thanks, that was good timing, I did see your report as I was buttoning up this latest update and added an override for that.. did it not work?   Ok, was that on AT&T also? Please send a report if you happen to see it again and safely have the opportunity. You can always do the long-press on the fly and then send a later one with an explanation pointing to the earlier one.. your username is attached to the long-press reports, so it's not an issue.
    • I sent a report in earlier, n66 reporting as n1. There should be two different reports, I couldn't find the button the first time so I just long pressed the connection type to send, then I remembered where it was. I put a note about the issue on the 2nd report. Both reports from me are for the same issue. Also, it might have been on a prior release but earlier this week I also saw n66 reported as n65 on the app. I was driving and wasn't able to send a report in for that one.
    • One more SCP beta rolling out.. includes more bugfixes and minor improvements. Pending any major issues with this version, it will be released to the public within a few days. Thanks for all the help and feedback!
    • Passed by the former Sprint site at 1184 60th St in Brooklyn last week and noticed T-Mobile took down all of the Sprint equipment but it looked like they installed some new cabinets so conversion is likely in progress.
