Well, I got the update today but now Carrier says LG.  Whenever I try to update profile, it says Network Error.  SignalCheck says Mobile Data is unregistered.  I thought the OTA was supposed to make things better, not break them...!

I havent even got the update yet. Been trying to update my profile/prl for about 6 hrs now and getting the Network Error Message. Signal Check Pro says its sending and receiving fine and active. But def weird that it would say that.

You can force upgrade by going to settings > apps > Google Services Framework > Force Stop, Clear Data.

Then go back into Settings, Updates then perform an LG Software Update.

Google has publicly stated that clearing data in Services Framework is a really bad idea. It causes the ID that is associated with your phone and your Google account to reset and can make apps unusable if they associate themselves with that number.

My ID is changed every time I flash a ROM, which is numerous times a week. I wouldn't say I've been negatively affected at all from it.

Ascertion, Did you try to reactivate your G2 on Sprint. When my G2 came back from factory service it also showed LG as the carrier. Even the Sprint splash screen was replaced with an LG splash screen. After I forced the G2 to reactivate itself, all the Sprint stuff came back. It took several reboots and updates to get it all back to normal though. The profile did update after forcing the device to reactivate.

Sprint's Activation Network went down today and I couldn't activate all day. Just tried a profile update and it worked. Sprint is the carrier in status bar, too. ;)

Is there reason we still don't have NFC payments?

I'm not sure what you are talking about but we have had fully functioning Google Wallet since day one. Install, setup, buy stuff with phone. [emoji3] [emoji106]

I have the update downloaded, but have not installed it. If someone would remind me where the update file is stored, I can post it to my Dropbox account for those of you who are getting tired of waiting.

No need, the OTA link from Google has been available since day 1

I updated 2 days ago, and honestly I notice a better connection to LTE. In one of my classes, I never have had LTE before and now I have a -109db connection too B26. Unless some optimizing went down over the weekend, I do think I have a better connection. :)

Tapatalk on ZVE is so laggy. Like 2FPS laggy. Anyone else getting this after you use the app for a minute or so? It's very bad. Haven't tried another ROM yet to see if the problem is ZVE or not.

Sent from my LG-LS980

I just updated Tapatalk and noticed the lag. It had been fine earlier in the day (I updated ZVE late last night) . Not sure what the deal is, but it is annoying.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
