LG G2 Users Thread!

I just use my pointer finger to hold down both at the same time. It doesn't get much easier than that imo.

Each to there own I guess, I've gotten use to the quick memo method, with my case I always mess up the power and volume method with one finger.

Another way to screenshot is to hold home then while holding slide up and to the right and when on the quick memo release finger then save at top right for screen. Much easier that power and volume.

Nice thing is you can do it this way with 1 finger. Much easier imo

Unfortunately the 5 does not get b26. However, I found b26 worth getting the 5s so I sold my 5 simply for that reason.

And no, as far as I know there are no 800 LTE sites in Orlando yet :(. Sure hope it gets here in the next few months. That b41 though with those speeds is going to be a fun competitor with the duopoly. Only thing is not many phones run Triband, so I think sprint might have to push a upgrade your phone promotion for hardly any money at all and get on our new triband network promotion... At least for areas that are spark ready.

My bad on the typo.  5s is what has found it so far.  My understanding is 5c is theoretically possible.

Yes they are pushing the G2 for $0.00, although the same for the 5c and galaxy s4 mini (triband).

Thanks for that.  I was wondering, can you tell us or maybe even grab a screen shot of the different conditions that change the data icon? I can see that when you are on band 41 that it's the star and I believe it's spinning, right? Is it that star when you are connected to regular band 25 LTE as well? Also, on 3G, I swear I saw a screen shot of a 3 inside of what looked like a "spark" ring.

Just trying to get a good idea of how that hideous icon is going to work and pray that we can revert to our old icons within the custom rom user space.

Thanks!

Thanks!

The icon for LTE is the spinning Walmart (I kinda like calling it that...) and the 3G icon also spins but not as distracting as the Spark. (It's a bit more subtle but still annoying).

It's just new versions of the LTE and 3G icons that were previously on the phone. The icon does not indicate LTE band; it's the same one for any LTE connections.

Did anyone get the update OTA?

Yes. Read back in the thread, several people got it OTA.

Polite request to all: You don't need to share with us that you don't have the update yet. Those posts just fill up the thread and generate more questions from people who don't want to dig through all the "me too" posts.

Oh good, another icon to further clutter up the bar up top.

I'm actually most interested in Tap and Pay with Google Wallet.  Does anyone happen to know if/when support for that will be baked in to the G2 (or if there's some what to hack it in via root or some such)?  I got rather spoiled with my SG3 and the looks people would give me like I was some kind of wizard for tapping my phone on the credit card pad to pay for things.

Hmm.. I hope there's a chance you dropped the B41 connection between the engineering screenshot and the SignalCheck one, because SignalCheck is showing the wrong MCC-MNC. The S4T has this problem; it always reports the "home" ID, not the currently connected one.

I would like to ask a favor of the G2 users out there with the Spark update who are connecting to band 41 and use SignalCheck: Could you let me know if the LTE MCC-MNC is showing correctly in the app (should be 311490 or 311870 -- not 310120)? If not, can you hit About > Send Diagnostics next time you think you are on band 41? Just note that's why you're sending it in the comments.

EDIT: Thanks to lilotimz, I see what is going on behind the scenes prior to the Spark update; I'd still like confirmation from someone using the newer 2.0.20018 baseband from the latest update as well.

Thanks,

-Mike

Verified. Engineering shows 311-490 & signalcheck shows 310-120.

Where is the spark icon in those screenshots?

Vince

Hasn't gotten the update yet.

I thought the idea was that those with the Spark update post screenshots to show that it was displaying the correct LTE MCC-MNC on SignalCheck.

Got your report, thanks! I see what is going on behind the scenes; the G2's radio is reporting the wrong MCC-MNC to the Android function that is supposed to show it, but the correct MCC-MNC is appearing in another area, so I should be able to fix it in a future SignalCheck update.

Actually, that's a great point, good eye. I didn't realize that Tim's G2 was on the older baseband until I went back and looked at the report he sent me. If someone could send a report while on band 41 after taking the Spark update, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

-Mike
