Network Vision/LTE - New York City Market

If I'm looking at the right place, I think there are two cell sites nearby there, one that's legacy CLWR B41, and one that is Sprint NV. I'm going to be in Jackson Heights this weekend, and will try to drive by that area.

I don't know why everyone is so excited about b41. Yes, speeds are great.

B26 is what will make sprint a better network, not b41

Once b25 and b26 were loaded you would be praying for b41. It's a tripod. What happens when you kick out the leg of a tripod?

I'd respectfully disagree. Band 26 and Band 41 are of equal importance. Without Band 41, Sprint would have an AT&T debacle with there LTE speeds overall slowly but surely decreasing. Band 41 is the extra capacity and speed that Sprint needs to differentiate itself from its competitors.

If you're deep in a building, yeah B26 will be what you need. But with the new 8T8R Band 41 antennas, and the denser deployment of Band 41 antennas, it will basically cover most of what is already covered by Band 25. That will finally allow Sprint to compete with Verizon and T-Mobiles astronomical speeds. Which is what most people think makes a good network. Whether they're right or not ...

That's definitely a Clear site. SignalCheck recognized it as Band 41.

is not in the clear maps and here wimax never made it. And the site is on the NV maps

WOW, I honestly could not disagree with you more, B41 here in NYC is pretty epic and 100% necessary. Coverage is not a huge concern in most cases in NYC. Also, I sit on B41 about 80% of the time all over the city, and it makes a substantial difference. B41 (especially with 8t8r) will be Sprint's Trump card!

Early reports already put 8t8r antenna's coverage at about the same as B25(maybe slightly less) plus NYC site spacing, I fully expect Sprint to demolish every other carrier by this time next year (at least here in NYC)

Damn! I'm slackin! I completely forgot about Sensorly.

I stopped using Sensorly. As an iPhone user I just felt it was pointless, all it did was tell me where the LTE was, I couldn't map it. Hopefully that will change with iOS 8, Apple is opening up their system. [emoji119]

Why is it that you guys always have little to no bars when you all are on B41.

Poor signal penetration indoors. It doesn't really matter though because speeds are still very fast. Between 3 bars and all bars, I max out at around 70Mbps.

one bar of band 41 is better than full bars of band 25

I agree. B25 is over crowded. I still haven't passed 25mbps on it. Can't wait for i6 [emoji119][emoji119]
