noted....new to this site and nv upgrade process

No worries man, there are so many people who keep stating that their area should get upgraded first, etc. when in reality the process is so much more complex.

You'll learn a lot from this site, welcome!

LI is being upgraded as we speak right now. Just because your town isn't done doesn't mean LI is not being upgraded right now. Sprint has a schedule of rolling out NV. We might not understand it all but it is being done the way they feel is best for the company and their customers. Not only that, local laws make it hard to access some sites then others. There are a lot of factors. It helps when you don't visit this site too much during the day. lol It's painful to see everyone get LTE and you are still on old 3G. Sometimes it's just best to check once a week. Besides, when home, you have wifi so you should be fine. Other times I'm sure you are in NYC so you get to experience the LTE goodness that some of us get. Remember, not all of us get it as well in NYC yet.

Incorrect mr, I don't go into NYC that often actually at most ill go to Brooklyn to see my father & try to fix our estranged relationship but other that I spend my time in L.I. & thats why my patience is starting to wear thin , I wouldn't mind if my Cell Tower was 3G upgraded but its not , its old Sprint .5 to .10mbps down & 0.0 up its that Sprint & im not rooting for that Sprint , & yeah I have Wifi but I have a cellular device & i'd like to be able to go outside & load a simple webpage . Lmao but its all good Summer soon come thats when im expecting them to start activating some L.I sites ,

Yeah it sucks. Lately I have been needing to retoggle airplane mode quite a few times to get a signal even if its sometimes automatic. It kinda sucks

I'm in the same boat man... Slow agonizing speeds in Manhattan!!! I get LTE at home a weak signal but still LTE. I don't use it because i have wifi and when i step outside, I lose LTE. For all the places I spend my time, I don't have LTE. But i get by knowing I will have good speeds eventually within this year. You just have to be positive. If you spend a lot of your time thinking about this, you will go mad. Take a deep breath and think about how much you will love it when you get it eventually. And since you live on the border, i wouldn't be surprised if you get signal earlier then others in LI. You will be the lucky one amongst your friends. ;) Stay positive!!!!

Honestly if there is WIFI available in a home or office environment, that should be the go-to means for network connectivity. What people do not realize is that the more users who fire up Netflix, etc. while on LTE just slow down the site for everyone else, especially if they are home. It is different they are out and about, but why burden the wireless network if there is an alternative available?

I don't know... I honestly don't think using the cellular network on your smartphone will cause too much slowdown for others. If anything it would be the illegal tethering usage that would slow it down. I agree that wifi should be used more often but then again we are paying a premium to use our smartphones for $10 extra. Either don't charge the premium if i am using wifi more then cellular or charge it and let me use it as I see fit. It's the illegal tethering that's the problem. lol

Yes I think you are right. Illegal tethering is the main problem with unlimited plan. There are such apps called foxfi that lets you tether devices even without rooting your device. One of my friend was using 4g wimax illegal tethering and uses upto 50gb per month. Apparently sprint called him and asked him what he is doing with so much data usage.

A standard cell site only supports a finite number of simultaneous connections, so 10 users streaming an HD episode of Netflix will cause capacity issues for the other users. If you're in a fixed location with WIFI available, why not use it?

I get it. Why not use it. I use it. Don't want to veer off topic again and I'm sure everyone has their own opinion on this and many many people discuss this to no end. Everyone will do what they feel comfortable doing and use services they pay for as they see fit. If one wants to use wifi everywhere like my gf who never uses more than 500 mbs, that's fine. If someone else wants to use 20gbs, that is fine too. As long as it's legal usage.

Of course, and I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I just believe that the ones who use the most data are also the ones who complain most about capacity :)

Agreed , When I get home I don't use Cellular Data even if its going fast , my wifi is there & my wifi is blazing , (40-45mbps down 35-40mbps up , I have Verizon Fios) I love my Wifi , the only time I go on Cellular is when im traveling , even when im at my friends house I ask them for the password to their wifi , the only exception is my fathers house because hes a wifi hog & turned it off to keep it all for himself -_- selfish bastard .

Fastest download speed.

http://db.tt/GB4BRN9w

I noticed it kind of maxes out around 26-27mbps download and 10mbps upload. In comparison when at&t first brought lte, my coworkers phone pulled 40mbps download speed but now when he gets barely above 10mbps.

Those speeds are gonna be consistent , I have a friend who lives in Atlanta & his average download is 30-35mbps down & 10-15mbps , he sent me a speedtest heres one

Heres a 3G speedtest 2-3mbps down average , 1-2mbps up

I hope that our Market is like this after full completion .

Sprint will never ever exceed speeds of ~37 mbps due to the nature of their LTE setup in a 5x5 configuration. ATT and VZ mainly deploys in a 10x10 configuration which maxes out at around 70mbps if given the correct backhaul and little users (haha... hi verizon LTE speeds!).In a fully deployed area, you'll highly unlikely go to an area over 110 dbm (reception where LTE speeds really start tanking under 10 mbps) beofre being swapped to a closer tower. Speeds will range from 10-30ish mbps most of the time.

Only time it'll ever break the theoretical max will be if someone connects to a CW TDD-LTE site with their (20mhz) wide channels which can get up to ~100mbps given the backhaul.
