I agree. The towers that I pass the most I wonder how they will do those towers. Like two of them are on top of a billboards. Another one looks like a little piece of metal.

That red and white pole is a tower. The ones that are in flag poles don't seem to be touched at all.

Haha, i drove by that one the other day. Thats the crappiest looking tower i have ever seen. Especially since there is a super nice one in the car dealerships parking lot less than 1/4 mile away.

My same thoughts. Nice tower a block or two over and they are using that one.

it would be extremely difficult, silly, or laughable to call st louis 'launched' without adequate coverage of various large venue's (stadium/dome/ampitheatre/forest park/the casinos).

Exactly. Once again I'll be at the dome with no coverage. I can't believe Sprint wouldn't have the downtown area done first.

I'm sure they want to. Give what we know about how they're upgrading the network, they're getting to it as fast as possible. Something, likely getting the permit to do the work, either from the city or the building the sites are on, is what's holding up the process.

So I was at the Rams game tonight and picked up LTE signal inside the stadium. Now I was in Section 447 at the very top. It was a unusable signal but it was definitely in there. Two people I was with had the same phones and had connection but not sure if they had 3G or LTE. This is from the tower at 2211 Lucas Ave in Carr Square.

Because that area is hell to upgrade first. If Sprint had to upgrade that area first everywhere else would be dragged down.  Sprint's able to move at the pace they've moved in Saint Louis BECAUSE they did the easier areas first. If I recall correctly, AT&T has had real issues even getting UVerse to the downtown apartments, because St. Louis City moves slower than molasses on permits and the like. Also, the constraints of trying to wire the fiber optic connections downtown to the cell sites which are, for the most part, on top of buildings, makes it really difficult.

Finally the DAS systems in the Dome and Busch Stadium are pretty much only used by AT&T right now.  I'm not even sure Verizon has connections into those buildings directly.

Well three weeks after accepted I just happened to look at the light and got Hwy 30 /Ottomeyer for the first time. Didn't have the Samsung with me to grab 3 digits. Mapped a little on the north side over areas where I previously mapped the other main High Ridge site. Posted Image

We were down at field level in section 140 and also got a weak 4G signal that was unusable also. Guy next to me was on Verizon and flying along like he was sitting on a tower.

I dig what you are saying, but that doesn't diminish the facts.

And yes, Verizon works like a charm in the dome.

I have a question the power is out in High Ridge affecting the High Ridge Blvd and Hwy 30 tower. At home I am picking up 3g from us cellular or sprint both from the Shady Valley tower but I'm still getting 4G from the High Ridge Blvd tower

New equipment has badass battery backups while the old legacy equipment is dead in the water until the power comes back.

(I'm just guessing)

That could be as it is only 4G accepted

network.sprint.com   only has data speed on the maps.  it looks like anything with 2 or more data speeds is LTE on.

For anyone curious, the Sprint.com coverage maps have been updated as of 2am this morning :)

I see some of my local towers on the "3-digit SCIDS needed" map. How should I go about contributing them? Just like stlman314 did above?

The HTC will only give you the HEX. It won't give you the 3 Digit SCIDs. If you have a Samsung or a LG those would give them to you or even a iPhone that is LTE capable you can get them.

I hope it's not a added fee service. It almost sounds like it.

< nothing to see here, move along >

Umm... it's just a new name for the Tri-Band network. It's not a new service, it's already offered. Lilg's used it, as have others with Tri-Band hotspots.
