I haven't had any handoffs yet because I haven't traveled far enough from my home tower, but I can tell you that I'm finally able to put my phone in my pocket when it's on LTE and pull it back out and it will still be on LTE. Thank God!

I can't wait for the public beta to come out!

Thanks, but I'd rather wait for the public beta as my phone and iPad are my daily drivers.

I don't blame you. There's a few annoying little bugs that I'm noticing that might make daily use hard, and battery life isn't where it should be. You're smart to wait.

Just downloaded the final public beta of 8.4. Seems stable. I'll probably wait on the public beta of iOS 9... Even though I kinda want it just for the extra hour and the 3 hour power saving mode. Are there specifics to that? Like you need to have at least 20% to get an extra 3 hours or something. What's the cut off if anyone knows.

Yeah battery sucks. Where it's supposed to give an hour I'm losing an hour. But I know it's because it's in early stages of beta so can't really expect much as far as battery life goes.

Yeah the power save mode is supposed to give 3 extra hours. It does work. When I first updated to Beta 1 I had like 30% it dropped to 20% and I enabled it. Gave me a good amount of extra time before my phone died.

Anyone on the beta, is 6 digit passcode mandatory?

Sent from Josh's iPhone 6+ using Tapatalk

No its an option. You can have the 4 the 6 or the letter pass code. It doesn't really matter if you have Touch ID though.

Will current Sprint subscribers be able to switch to Oberthur Technologies' (OT) new SIM cards free of charge without having to purchase a new phone? That would be awesome. Link for reference:

Where you're seeing an improvement in battery I'm seeing a loss. Even in power saving mode my phone still dies much quicker than it did on 8.3. After a day on 9.0, I'm restoring to 8.4 beta right now, because that is stable and has the better LTE radio firmware on it. I'll wait for the next 9.0 beta to come out before I go back to it. I'm on summer break so I have time to kill with going between iOS 8 and 9.

Attention attention attention! If your UDID is registered to my Apple Developer account and your on a beta through me get off that beta! My Developer account expires next Week June 18th, I currently don't have the funds to pay for it yet and idk what happens if your on a beta with an expired Developer account so yeah. I'll pay for it when I get my first pay check from Chipotle and you guys can go back on the beta if you want. Just a fare warning [emoji5]️

Where exactly did you get that wallpaper?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I usually get my wallpapers from these two Bible Lock Screen apps that have pictures like that with quotes from the Bible or related too but I think I got that one from Tumblr.

Am I the only one who uses iTunes Radio? It seems like I am whenever I ask someone if they do. 9e09eebd00ba8ad420eba70bbc9af517.jpg

I really want to try & like Apple Music. I have Spotify, but really only use it to listen to obscure stuff I haven't ripped from CDs yet.

Beats 1 radio sounds awesome.

I have Spotify also but I think I'll end up liking apple music especially since it's baked into the music app. A one stop shop for all my music. Which will make my part ways with Spotify. I'll lose my playlists but it's no biggie. My biggest one was my gym playlist.

If Apple wants to take Spotify customers, they need to have a script that will parse your playlist data from Spotify and mimic it on Apple Music.  The only attractive thing to me about Apple Music is the 'family plan'

I wish google would do something about a family plan for its music service.

I'm on the initial 7.99 plan still, however I'd probably move to a family plan as long as it didn't suck pricewise.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
