WiWavelength
Are you using WiFi Tether from Google Play? If so, do you have WPA2 enabled? I cannot seem to get mine configured to work properly, however using it wide open works fine. Would you mind sharing or PM'ing your settings? I'm using the built-in Android tethering because I pay Sprint for tethering access. Working fine with WPA2. Thank you. Members, need we remind you? S4GRU does not allow discussion of unauthorized tethering. That is a violation of Sprint's Ts and Cs, which you agreed to as part of your contract. If you want tethering rolled in with your data plan, then you will have to sacrifice unlimited data. AJ
GoBigRed79
I just got off chat with Sprint about not connecting to LTE. Looks like it is a known issue with Google Play bought devices I will keep you guys updated. I guess I don't understand why it makes a difference where the phones are bought from. As far as I know they are the exact same device and software as the one Sprint is selling. It will be interesting to see some Sprint sold devices get activated so we can see if they have any issues.
aerxx
does anyone have issues connecting at 1x800? at my work i get a stronger 1x800 signal but the nex5 refuses to connect to it. I am always 1x voice when going from LTE to making a phone call. I can always get 1x800 when I am going from 3G to making a phone call. I have had this issue since I got my Play Store device on 11/4. always_learner
I know the other thread is locked but the phone appears to be $50 on contract at amazon... Is it still $150 at sprint? I see it is $50 at sprint, but that may be s $100 credit for new sub's. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk Amazon has it for $50 on contract for any sprint account holder. Looking at the off contract price ($500) is confusing though. A Nexus 5 purchased from Google Play does not make a difference. The chat with tech support provided just a stock answer to get the user off the chat. This is why I have long said not to bother frontline Sprint employees with these tech questions. They do not have the information you seek. You are just wasting time for everyone involved. aerxx
How do you tell the difference between 1x voice and 1x data? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Well since the Nexus 5 doesn't do voice/data simultaneously, whenever I am on a call it can only be voice that I am seeing in the 1x engineering screen. Unless I am looking at the completely wrong screen.
fuunkychicken
I toggled airplane mode here at work with the LTE engineering screen open to see if I saw anything weird. It showed that it briefly connected to B25 then dropped back to eHRPD. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
WiWavelength
How do you tell the difference between 1x voice and 1x data? On the CDMA1X engineering screen, the Service Option will be different between voice and data. AJ

I have a white 32GB from the Play Store and it is working fine with LTE here in LA (AlcaLu territory) in areas with known good WiMax coverage (compared against my girlfriend's Ting HTC Detail and my once-upon-a-time NS4G). I have all bands enabled. No issues keeping LTE or handing off to eHRPD for me.
smorcy11
Anyone recieved a Sprint ordered device yet? I just got on chat with Sprint to confirm if it would have a SIM card with it, and the rep said she didn't know if it did. It won't come in until late this evening (UPS always comes by after 8 pm) and I was trying to figure out if I should go by the Sprint store this afternoon for a SIM. First rep transferred me to teir II biz tech support, submitted ticket to engineering, guess we wait. The only reason I do chat first is because they usually direct me in the right direction. I don't expect them to resolve anything.
GoBigRed79
Somebody on another forum got his and reported that it comes with the SIM pre-installed and no SIM removal tool. Otherwise exact same as the phones sold from the Play store. Mine should be here anytime now. I will let you know if I find anything different.

No simm removal tool huh, seems like Sprint wants to \make it hard for you to switch simms. I don't understand why anyone that knows that you can buy it from google play for 349/3999.00 would pay Sprint 449.00. 449.00 from Google play got me the same phone in 32g vs 16.....tha\t's enough to deter me from buying from Sprint....over paying and getting less for more equipment wise. If you're going to stay with Sprint, you might as well get the phone for $200-$300 cheaper by renewing your contract or signing a new one. Cheap phone is the added bonus. I would look at resell prices and what sprint charges then buy the phone that nets you the largest difference then use that to buy a play store nexus 5 and pocket what's left over. Do the math and it might be worth your while.
mikejeep
Called the two stores - still no luck but I finally got a good store rep. He offered to run inventory on Boston stores. When he found a few had inventory he offered to call them for me since he knows some of the reps. Waiting for the call back now. Whether or not it is successful he at least restored some faith in the store staff. Picked up a SIM at the corporate store in Burlington a couple of hours ago. They knew exactly what was needed and seemed like they had plenty. -Mike

I was hoping to check it out before mine arrived in a couple of weeks.
