LOL! Normally mine is in my hand and I've gotten quite good at pocketing it before doing anything.

There was a time I could juggle a whole lot at one time with a phone drop being the least of my concerns.

Now, I'll drop a carton of eggs before I drop my phone. :P

You probably are. As soon as I got my iPhone, I put it in an Otterbox Defender. I am not risking it this time.

Although I have a flip case on my Note 2, I have to be careful where I lay the Note on with the flip case folded back. The felt on the inside can pick up stuff that if i am not careful to brush off can scratch the glass. But it is still better protection than none at all.

I just use a screen protector along with my flip case and a modded thin case and it protects it from most things other than a 10 ft free fall :)

I'm so paranoid about scratching my iPhone even in the case, I kept the factory screen protectors on the front and back of my phone, and then just put the case over the top.

I am having a problem maybe someone can help me with...As a recent convert from iOS, I used to be able to type and iOS would fix my typing for me as I wrote..... android gives me the option but doesn't fix it automatically...help?

Well, my Note II is a little scratched now. It slipped out of my slacks pocket while I was getting out of the car and hit the pavement hard enough to dislodge the back cover and battery. Luckily, the screen is undamaged. Only damage is a few light scratches on the back that I can barely see and a larger scratch on one corner where the phone impacted the pavement. From now on, it's going inside a buttoned or zippered jacket pocket!

For some reason people state the Samsung keyboard doesn't auto correct. Mods have been out to enable it. I use Swiftkey as I like the customizations and predictions it brings.

what if I want it to automatically correct like the iphone? Not a possibility??

Stock keyboard doesn't "auto correct" but you might find one in the play store that does.

So Google Wallet works only if you root the device on the Note 2. What are the chances that Google Wallet will be landing on the Note 2?

I don't think it needs to be rooted. Just load the APK but it does show up as unsupported device in google wallet. It works fine though.

I'm sure it will be pretty soon as the only thing needed is for Google to approve the use with that device. Everything is ready on the Samsung side.

Modded samsung keyboard with auto correct and 5th row for numbers is hard to beat... -.- was never one for touchscreen keyboards but this was sufficient enough for someone like me that came from a whole lot of hardware keyboards

I spoke to my dedicated care rep today since I've been looking to upgrade 2 phones on my business plan. My original intention was to talk about pre-ordering the HTC One & get some feedback regarding whether the LG Optimus Elite or the Kyocera Torque would be the better option for my salesman since we still use Direct Connect. BUT THEN, my rep made me an offer I couldn't refuse...she said she could offer me a Note 2 for each line for $149 per phone.

Direct Connect? What Direct Connect? I have two Note 2s due to arrive on Thursday. Mobile to mobile is free now anyway right?

Just wanted to put it out there...speaking to someone at Sprint might get you the same deal if the price is what kept you from pulling the trigger.

Android Sprint phones like my previous Evo LTE, would not display the actual signal strength "bars" are displayed measurements of 3G EVDO/eHRPD or 4G LTE. It will also show u on what type of connection you on, 1x, 3G, or 4G.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
