Thanks for the advice. I'm going to use Smart Switch between the phones. I see another app call Syncios Samsung transfer.

Any suggestions on good protective cases. Thinking of getting Otterbox

I use otterbox.  Over the years, I have decided I need a phone hanging on my belt all day.  I like the otterbox as it grabs onto my belt really good and does not pop off when doing something unusual. It might not be as pretty as some other cases, but it sure is protective.

I have no knowledge of Syncios Samsung App.

You will need  a screen protector that is not part of otterbox. I bought two at Best Buy that would not stay on the phone. They kept coming off. Not sure what brand they were, but I would never buy them again.   I bought two replacements at Wal-Mart and so far they are ok. They were a different brand.

If you want to maintain thinness and the ability to show off your phone while keeping it protected I'd suggest a CrashGuard bumper from RhinoShield and one of their tempered glass screen protectors and back protectors. The screen protectors a 9 on Mohs hardness scale so they don't scratch easily and they're very shatter resistant.

Something odd is up we are almost 2 months without so much as a security update. That's never happened before. At this point the next update has to be VoLTE or they are waiting for the final outcome for the merger before any more software updates go out.

Sprint was on the ball with updates until April. This phone has never went this long without a update before. I guess after it’s first birthday they dial back updates. But that doesn’t explain why the Note 9 has also not been updated since April.

Was told that Google may be the one who is to blame, although Pixel has June's already...

I had an update on my S8 last week with the May security patch. My wife's S9 is also not seeing anything.

I got my S9 device to replace the S7 and getting 'please contact Sprint to unlock device' when I put the S7 SIM in the S9. Sprint tells me I need new SIM because it's not compatible. Thought they both have the same SIM.

Thanks for that information. I went ahead and ordered the SIMOLW506TQ sim card for my phone and will be here tomorrow. I hope that allows me to activate the phone and move my number over to the S9.

Before I bought the phone I contacted Sprint with the IMEI # and they said that it's cleared to be activated. Since I bought the phone, I've been trying to use the S7 sim card,  they are telling me that the phone is locked and to return the phone. They said it hasn't been active in 50 days. I'm wondering if they are talking about sim unlocking.

I hope once I get the new sim I can activate this phone.

I keep hearing about the June patch finally making it to some phones. Yet here I am with April still being the most recent. This is really quite annoying.

Yeah I don’t know what’s going on. The Note 9 just got the May patch last week. And the S9 they just forgot about. How is the S8 seeing more support than its successor?

Over two months since an update now. Are there any beta testers on here? What is the most recent beta build looking like?

At this point I'm convinced Sprint has no plans of bringing volte to the S9 unless the merger happens.

Yes, very odd about the s9 series.

I'm wondering if they find out about the data drops on the s10 with the volte updates and holding off until all the s10 models are fixed.

I finally got the July update late last week. My AT&T phone is still happy with the June update.

Just got August update on UNLOCKED Galaxy S-9.   Can not find any place to turn on VOLTE. Looks like we did not get any better aggregation options.  Actually, I see NOTHING changed or added on a quick look.  File was just over 200MB

August 15th indicates an automatic Security update of July 1,2019.  That is a Sprint sold Galaxy S9

UPDATE: Another update for my Sprint sold Galaxy S9 was auto updated with August 1sr update

Its almost time for the next iteration of Samsung's Galaxy Phones! I'm planning on pre-ordering either the S20+ or Ultra. Current Rumors have it going on Pre-order February 11.  Let the discussion commence...

Samsung Network Vision equipment are highly distinct and fairly easy to spot compared to the equipment that other vendors are deploying. Sprint is Samsung's first extremely massive American contract (baring Clearwire) so there  should be no issues in confusing these equipment for another carrier which happens often with Ericsson NV equipment.

Below are images of Samsung equipment which includes antennas, remote radio units, base stations, and their mounting configurations.

      Sprint 4G Rollout Updates

Since last fall, there had been talk of a Samsung Galaxy Nexus launching on American carriers other than Big Red. Sprint has finally announced several weeks ago that it is the another vendor slated for release in the U.S. Suffice to say, many of us out there, especially those adverse to heading to Verizon and paying its premium prices, are excited about the impending release.
The good news is that Google could be working on an updated version of the Galaxy Nexus. It has unofficially been dubbed the Galaxy Nexus Plus. There is much anticipation that it will be released before Sprint turns on LTE this summer. It’s not the first time an OEM has refreshed a device and re-released it to the market place, which works to our advantage. It’s rumored that the new Galaxy Nexus will have either a 1.5 or 1.8 GHz Texas Instrument OMAP4670 dual core processor. This would be a significant upgrade from the 1.2 GHz dual core processor found in the current Verizon version.
We don’t know anything about official specs, but it’s also rumored to have an 8 MP camera. This is a noteworthy upgrade to the 5 MP shooter on the Verizon model (which has been lauded by many techies). We already know that the Sprint model will come installed with Google Wallet, per previous announcements. Some rumors also point to a beefier battery as well. The phone should have all the other features that’s on the current Galaxy Nexus, so now all we have to do is wait.

hello all i feel i should start a note 9 rumor thread  please post rumors and what not here.

    • No worries! I kind of jumped the gun by posting before it was published and should have been more clear, sorry about that. It's completely separate from SignalCheck Pro, so most of you won't have it installed already. EDIT: It should be live now, but ensure you're enrolled in the beta and see version 4.572Lb.
    • I thought about that after I posted, I assumed it was the newest version since I had to install it, but it looks like the update hasn't hit the play store yet. That was on 4.482. I'll test again once the update is available. Sorry for any confusion. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
    • Thanks! Is that the new version released today? I'm not sure if it became available yet.. should be version 4.572Lb? Please send me a diagnostic report if it is.
    • Edit: whoops, looks like I haven't gotten the update yet. Lol the cart ran over the horse. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
    • Slightly different request for help today.. I have finally(!!!) updated SignalCheck Lite, after several years of dormancy. It was stable and didn't need a lot of changes until Android 10 made it completely unusable. Anyone on the SCP Beta Crew is automatically able to opt-in for the Lite Beta as well. The update (version 4.572Lb) should be available shortly.. could you please take a few minutes to install and test it, to make sure it is stable? https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.blueline.signalchecklite (edited link) The code is nearly identical to Pro, but with many components removed. Once you verify it is working, you can uninstall Lite to minimize confusion. Please send me a brief comment (here, PM, email, whatever) after you give it a try and let me know how it looks. I do not expect any issues, but I want to make sure it is stable before it goes out. Thanks!
