Thanks. I may have to take a drive sometime to try to find out. Any negative replies of inability to roam on LTE in a particular location? I don't recall seeing any when I read through this thread.

 

 

There have been some USCC LTE Roaming reports in Missouri, I was able to get LTE roaming in Kansas.

 

I should say, both of those reports where from LG G4s.

I've got a question about sim card swapping. I wanted to compare the data speeds on my 5X between Sprint, ATT, and T-mobile at different spots around town. Also my sister-in-law lives in a horrible Sprint coverage hole near Neosho, so popping in a different sim while we are there would be awful handy. I know on gsm phones, swapping sims is no big deal. I just want to make sure that doing so wouldn't affect the Sprint CDMA activation, and that everything would still work normally after putting the Sprint sim back in. Has anyone here done this?

I searched on here and did a Google search, but nothing I found gave me enough confidence to try it. On one forum, I found someone on a different carrier that had issues switching back to their CDMA carrier on a Nexus 5 (I believe it was in Canada).

I'm pretty sure in theory everything should be OK as long as you don't change any settings on Sprint's website related to the SIM or line while it's inactive. And you do a "network settings update" or whatever it's called in the 5X's carrier settings whenever you swap.

I haven't had problems switching between Sprint SIM and other GSM provider SIMs in my Nexus devices.  Most of the problems come from switching between Sprint MVNO's and Sprint.  Also, make sure you don't change your Sprint account to another device while using the GSM SIM.

I got it also at 10:57 pm CST. And the PRL did update it's self a few days after the last profile update.

anyone else unable to use the debug / data menus?  When i click "Edit" for something like LTE priority or really edit under any section, it crashes.  Done it since i got the phone.

It happen to me on Band Priority and LTE_Available file in Edit or View.

Not sure if this has been found yet, but I know it was in question if 3rd party unlocked devices were able to access Band 41 CA. Activated my Nexus 5x this morning and got this.

Thanks. Finally remembered I had an unused nano sim for Straight Talk. I activated it and popped it in the 5X and it worked without issue swapping either direction. Edited February 17, 2016 by Grabber5.0

Does LTE roaming actually work, though?  We have not had any reports yet of LTE roaming on the three unlocked BYOD handsets, only on Sprint branded handsets.

I've used them on other phones, but the ## versions don't work on my 5x, only the *#*# versions, and the order keeps tripping me up.

Works fine on my 6P. Remember the order of *s and #s is reversed on the beginning and end.

 

Edit: or do you mean the LTE roaming line? If so, I don't have it on my 6P either.

Sorry I should have been more clear I don't have the LTE roaming line. Why would the 5x and not the 6p?

The 6P also doesn't have the CA line and lacks a useful/functional LTE engineering screen. Different people writing this part of the software is my guess (ie different manufacturers)

Sprint is in the process of swapping around a lot of PCS spectrum with VZW, AT&T, and T-Mobile.  That will affect band class 1 CDMA2000 carrier channel assignments.  Those changes may precipitate multiple PRL updates.  For reference, see current and future articles on The Wall.
