They are corporate stores but are not fully stocked. Chat with international chat and say you need a sim cars for a moto x PE and they'll send you a csim 4ff v5 straight away no BS.

Yes, maybe I am just a glutton for punishment but wanted to see what the stores would do.  I can understand if they arent fully stocked but are we to believe that they only get 1 SIM card in for each phone that comes into stock versus just a box of them?

It's a hit or miss if they get spares from what I understand. You need to head to a full sprint store with a repair center to guarantee them having spares.

Not all Sprint Shacks are corporate.

Makes you wonder how a Sprint store which sells Sprint devices does not have SIM cards.  I am probably mistaken but i thought the new Radioshack Sprint stores were essentially corporate stores, is this not true?

Think about it.  Why would they need loose SIM cards?  Devices sold in Sprint branded packages already have SIM cards inside, not just kitted but installed.

That definitely applies to new Sprint phones.  Used Sprint phones (e.g. those bought from eBay), sometimes (usually?) don't have them.

With a no subsidy cell service model, the used cell phone market may become more popular.

No full sprint stores around here.  All I have is third party owned stores that have repairs centers and this is who i got my Nexus 5 SIM from 2 years back.  Oh well.

That potentially applies to the future, not the present.

I know why loose SIM cards can be handy.  Those situations for at least 90 percent of customers, however, are rare.

And I hope it indeed does. Sprint will get better. Heck, they already are better in this regard. At least now there is a means to get a device whitelisted.

I agree.

In the future, hopefully it will be just as easy as buying any Sprint 'branded' device and going into a store to activate it.

No hassles, no contracts

The way Apple has pushed through to the 4FF nano SIM and, seemingly, soon to be the "virtual" SIM, I doubt that any store visit will be necessary in the coming years.  Physical SIM cards may go away.  Select your provider and plan on the device.

Told chat I needed a SIM for my new MOto X Pure Edition.  She asked the amount of "gigabits" it was so I said 32 gigs.  Seems she sent me a "SIMCARD LTEGSM 4FF USIM REMOV"  Bummer.

now they are sending "SIMCARD LTEGSM 4FF CSIM REMOV2" guess we will see.

Lmao. First time I asked them for the V5 one, and they said I had to wait until the Nexus 5X was closer to release. So I went back in and asked them for a sim for an HTC One M9 and they sent me the 4FF v5 one.

Guys, why fight city hall?  If you have a Best Buy Mobile within 10 miles, go there.  Pay the $10 freight and get your SIM card.  Easy.  I am not going to listen to any complaining.  You will have to go through me.  Or you can take your business elsewhere.  Perhaps to T-Mobile, which can charge you $15 per SIM card.

Probably the same sim for the Moto X Pure. I think if you give them the product number, they'll send it to you. Let me grab it real quick for ya.

Edit: Try the item number here.

Apple loves you.  Go worship at the altar of iOS.  Prepare to lose or sacrifice any old iOS devices.  But for your faith, God will reward you -- just as in the Book of Job, the Book of Steve Job.

Hey, I have an iPad, too.  I use it only as a remote for my A/V system.  All play, no work.

    • After several months of testing, an update to SignalCheck Pro is rolling out on Google Play. It may take up to 48 hours to become available for download. Notable changes include: Added option to display site notes for NSA 5G-NR cells. Enabling this new option (Preferences > Display Settings > Show NSA 5G-NR Site Notes) will cause the app to make an "educated guess" as to what the most appropriate site note is linked to the connected NSA 5G cell, using the PCI and the device location. If it finds an existing entry that is likely to be relevant, it will display the note along with the distance from where the strongest signal from that cell was logged. While connected to NSA 5G, these notes cannot be edited; a valid NCI is required to add/edit notes and that information is not available on NSA connections.   Added option to log cells with missing/invalid PLMN (such as NSA 5G-NR cells). Users asked for the ability to log data for NSA 5G, so a new option (Preferences > Logger Settings > Log Cells with Missing PLMN) will permit this.   Added option to display LTE info above 5G-NR info. Enabling this new option (Preferences > Display Settings > Show LTE Cells Above 5G-NR Cells) shows the same information that is currently displayed, but moves the LTE information above the 5G-NR information. Other changes: Code optimizations and enhancements. Improved Android 15 compatibility. Overhauled Purchases module. Resolved force closes impacting some GSM/LTE connections. Resolved issue with improper 5G-NR PLMN display when NR/LTE PLMNs did not match. Resolved issue with improper PLMN display with single-digit MNCs. Resolved issue with incorrect 5G-NR bands displayed on some devices due to Android bug. Resolved issue with incorrect number of neighbor cells displayed when some cells were unknown. Resolved issue with missing 5G-NR data when sector display is enabled. Resolved issue with saving 5G-NR site notes when NR/LTE PLMNs did not match. Resolved issue with settings to log missing GCI/NCI/TAC/PLMN being ignored. Resolved issues with web data export function. Updated internal libraries. Updated provider database. Updated target API to Android 15. I appreciate all of your support, and a big thank you to the members of the Beta Crew that help with testing and feedback!
    • Oct security update is out.
    • Stopped by again today and the antennas are up but it isn't live just yet. If other Sprint conversions are anything to go by it'll likely take about a month for the site to go live.
    • It is an Android bug that was reportedly fixed in August 2023 but definitely has not been. I have implemented numerous workarounds in SCP to correct the NR bands the app displays. The OS ignores the possibility that many NR-ARFCNs are valid across multiple bands.. it reports the lowest NR band that is valid for the current ARFCN. In your example, channel 432530 can be n1, n65, or n66.. so the OS just (lazily) reports n1.   Awesome, thanks! I will add an n65 override also.
    • Yeah both of those instances were on my AT&T s22 ultra. Seems ro be working as intended today in latest release.
