Sprint and new website design

No they don't. Sprint doesn't need even more terrible maps.

The last tmobile coverage map was far superior.

Sent from my Nexus 5

I'm not talking about the shading but the user generated part. I should have been more specific

Yeah, I hate the new T-Mobile map.  Still have the old one open in a tab and it still works, but no idea how long that will last and the first time I have to close my browser, I assume that's gone.

Speaking of new website designs... looks like S4GRU got a facelift too!

Yup, and it looks great. How about you, what do you think?

Looks like they're back to the old site.

They are probably testing it with a certain percentage of visitors to see how they interact with it. I bet in the next few months we will see it take hold across the enterprise. Hopefully, this will coincide with a redesign of the front and back ends of MySprint.

Now if only Sprint could update its own coverage maps to a better GUI without having to pan so much on that tiny square that would be great especially if they are doing sitewide website redesign.

One step forward, and two steps back.  It's like a country song.

Or a drunk leaving a bar at 2AM, one...step...forward, two...steps...back...one...stepgawhasapl faceplant.  :P

  • 3 weeks later...

I like the new look. But I can't seem to be able to do a hardware swap on the "new" or "old" site. I have chatted with Sprint and no can figure it out!

Can an anyone else sill swap phones online anymore?

Thanks,

Looks like the new design is primary for Sprint.com, but it isn't playing nice with legacy parts of the site. Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch as a new UX takes hold.

I'm on a Family Share plan.... and haven't been able to see "Shared" Usage meter at the top of page listing all my devices nor the page that shows you the Shared Usage along with each individual device usage... I hope this is just a glitch, anyone else have this problem?

I like the new design of Sprint's website a lot.

Although, I'm wondering if they are using Squarespace/Squarefront for their website now :

http://squarefront.com/

The interface looks similar.

I can assure you that Sprint is using an enterprise-grade content management system. The style may be similar by design, but this is all the work of internal creative/agency partners.

Thanks for informing me.

Both interfaces look very good, as I've even considered using Squarespace for a personal blog site.

Anyways, I'm glad to see Sprint updating their site. The new design looks vastly better than the old one.

It's a good refresh, but I'm still upset to not see an updated coverage map. Their current one is just too small and hideous. There isn't any word on that, is there? They had a survey a month or two ago, but that's about it, I think.

I've filled out that survey 3 times now. 3 different computers it popped up for me, so I filled it out. Hopefully they've heard from enough of us by now.

I'd like to see a full page coverage map, or something close to it, where it isn't as difficult to do zooming, and everything to be a bit clearer on it, as well.

I filled it out twice I believe. I'd like to see a map using either Google/Bing, far bigger with a full screen or expandable option, and Sprint needs to change their algorithms. Sprint is the only carrier that actually sometimes claims less coverage than is proven on crowd-source maps (cover near borderline roaming areas is underrepresented and they claim roaming where they sometimes have a stronger signal than other carriers). It needs to be at least on par with reality.

That's the first I've heard that. Generally coverage is overstated. It's gotten better, particularly LTE (B25) representation, at least in the markets I spend time in. However, Spark coverage is still grossly overstated here.

They all do, but I doubt I'm the only person to say they're too generous when marking the roaming areas.
