First time seeing this pop up on Facebook. Hopefully Sprint's digital team is micro targeting markets all over with favorable RootMetrics results. Anyone else seeing this in their markets?

Sprint was that boyfriend or girlfriend that was "the one" and sprint cheated on them and now they can't move on and love again. They still have scars.

That's exactly why a co-worker moved from Sprint to Verizon: he bought a WiMax phone and never got 4G so now he happily pays way more for 4 lines on Verizon.

 

Laugh but there are many in that situation; Sprint lost them for a few years at least.

I agree and sadly people only base things off their past experiences. WiMAX wasn't everywhere. I had the evo 4g and I only had 4g when I was home from school but up on campus and in my dorm I had nothing but 3G. The service sucked but I couldn't complain cause my parents was paying my phone bill. Call and text was fine it was just the data which was a hit or miss

    *65% growth in "prime" customers from last year 1st quarter

    *Going to take time to get to other carriers

 

*One Rate plans are proving to be successful

That better? I gave a real example about a former coworker no longer on sprint because of the WiMAX rollout. Seems relevant. And on topic to the comment which I originally quoted.

They may not have any financial backing from Softbank, so they're answering in the most vague way possible to prevent stock holders/customers from becoming upset.  I'd say Sprint should bid on spectrum in locations that need work (there's a handful of markets where 600Mhz would benefit Sprint.)

They tried to get the FCC to approve a joint bid with T-Mo and I think are still trying to work out a joint bidding arrangement with the rural carriers. I think they would like to have 600 spectrum so long as they don't have to foot the entire bill.

I think if Sprint can densify some areas, the 600Mhz spectrum won't really matter much. Densification might be cheaper than bidding on that lowband stuff...lol. I know in Baltimore, even areas with LTE800 on several towers in a row, I switch to 3G while driving alot still...so sure, 600 might help...but I'd rather see more towers on their existing spectrum than just new antennas.

I would like to see Sprint at least bid on a nationwide 5x5 600mhz band. If they don't bid on any 600 spectrum. Sprint still has PCS spectrum that can be refarmed for LTE use plus the 2.5 spectrum.

Sprint is weak on low band spectrum. It has to be cheaper to add 600 to existing towers rather than densifying their network to match Volte to their CDMA network not to mention expanding their foot print with their existing spectrum portfolio.

That's right. Sprint would be wise to use 600MHz for VoLTE. One B26 LTE carrier will not be enough to supply all the far range voice and LTE data outside the B25/B41 coverage.

I felt like he was talking non sense saying they don't need to go to the 600 auction. 800mhz can be brought to its knees with relative ease. 2500 will take much longer to deploy. He said WiFi was everywhere and I had to laugh. Walmart doesn't even have WiFi and there are so many places where WiFi is locked or you have to ask for the password. Its just not as convenient as your own home network yet. If Sprint for some reason decided not to get in that auction I will be very concerned.
