Galaxy S3 is on PRL 33030, does 800 have priority over 1900 PCS or does 1900 have priority?  Also, can you flash other PRLs while using VM, I don't know how this works since VM doesn't have roaming and only uses Sprint's native coverage.

You can flash any PRL you want, but that will not enable roaming.  If you try to authenticate on a roaming system, you will not receive any incoming calls, and outgoing calls will be blocked or directed to enter a credit card number for pay per use service.

Thanks AJ, just wanted to know if I could flash a Sprint PRL that has 800 priority too see if its around me.  I didn't know if it would mess up my phone service when trying to make a call, send texts, etc.  33030 seems to have BC 10 enabled so maybe I'll just leave it alone.

Can you upload your PRL? Someone here could look at it to tell you if 800 is enabled on your PRL.

I've read that PRL 51098 fixes the Note 3 dropped call issue, whats different about this over the 55017... and is 52098 the corporate version?

How could a PRL have anything to do with dropped calls especially on a specific phone?

The phone supposedly only drops calls when 800mhz comes into play, I've heard that the phone can't handle HD voice on 800 and that the signal bounces back and forth between 800 and 1900 until the radio can't handle it and forces the drop. If you can take 800 mhz out of play by eliminating it or editing priorities than I could see how that would fix the issue... but then again I'm assuming and could be wildly wrong, but the phone is not dropping calls like it was immediately prior to the PRL change.

There is some sort of unknown issue with SMR/800Mhz 1X on the Note 2, they created a custom PRL series with no SMR records to "work around" the issue.

unknown issue? My thought is they just don't want to pay to fix the hardware. The potential cost of a lawsuit it cheaper than actually fixing the problem... that is how decisions are made

Never been anything released from Sprint in a PR or Samsung confirming what the issue actually is.  There is a  lot of speculation, but no defined issue.

That is entirely false. The network team was still investigating the Note 3 and Note 2 issues separately as of a couple days ago.

The PRL List page also has a separate tab that lists the official changes made in each version.

The xxx98/17 series changes:

The Roaming Light has been turned "ON" based on new contracts for Strategic Carriers in Alaska. Customers will continue to have access to the same services while roaming, including EVDO.

Boost and Virgin Mobile devices will move to a new PRL series that enables customers to acquire the Sprint network with a FEMTO unit.

The xxx99/16/30 series changes:

The updated PRLs will ensure continued international voice & data roaming services in the Bahamas.

Thanks, never used google docs for a spread sheet before, didn't know that those were tabs up top, use to xcel with the tabs at the bottom. I also don't know what to tell you, its been a few days since I changed the PRL on my wifes Note 3 and it hasn't dropped a call. Prior it was dropping just about every call and that was even after 4.4.2 was installed. I'm don't know enough to pull the PRL apart and understand it, but I do know that the phone has been working, I can switch it back to  55017 when my wife gets home and see if it drops calls again...

Officially it is still under investigation. Unofficially it is rumored and specualted it is an 800MHz issue, more common in Samsung Network Vision markets. Kind of ironic given it's a Samsung device, you'd think they would have tested it on their own equipment.

Where can I download 2011 PRL? I need to modify it for my note 2 to connect to airave. I have done so by using 55016. I think I should start with 2011 but I can't find it anywhere.

Can someone help here? I tried to read out my PRL to modify it but unsuccessfully. I am not a savvy user of qpst.

My GS3 has been updated to PRL 25018, and seemingly will no longer connect to 1x800, no matter what I do (PRL update, go into poor coverage areas, whatever). Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know what 25018 changes are?

I'm gonna hold off on upgrading then until we figure out what has changed. Thanks.
