I'm loving the Chrome browser. I really like the magnifying links feature. I have gone back and installed it on all my devices.

I've been using Chrome since it got stable a few months ago and love it. I haven't found fault with this device yet, favorite mobile device I've ever used.

Edit in: OK, one fault, but it is known, the lack of SVDO. It is frustrating when my 3G podcast download gets killed by a phone call. LTE will resolve as downloads will be in seconds rather than hours due to the horrible 3G speeds in Lansing, MI.

Try "Naked Browser" in the Play Store.

Yeah, "naked browsers" are great.

In the Mobile Network / Network Mode settings, do these settings have any impact on battery life? In other words, does it actually turn on and off the various radios or is it simply a roaming setting?

I had mine set to Automatic which I presume includes GSM/UMTS. But if I am not traveling anywhere that would need GSM, does setting this to LTE/CDMA actually turn off the GSM radio?

Likewise, if I am in an area that doesn't have LTE yet, does setting the phone to CDMA turn off the LTE radio?

Just wondering if I can save battery life here or if I should just set it to Automatic and forget about it?

Thanks Sprint!

My buddies with Verizon are soooooo jealous and are even drooling over my Note 2. Of course, the downside is that they will get their phones (11/27) before I get LTE, but I have failed to mention that little detail to them.

Went to the corporate store to see if they had any cases and there was a Verizon couple looking at th we the Note 2. He was pissed that he had to wait. We started taking and I was telling him about Network Vision. He asked if unlimited was able truly unlimited. I told him I average about 10-12 gigs a month and never get charged extra. He looked at his wife and said "We're switching today". Of I course gave him this sites address also.

We do not have LTE yet. I did show him my speed test that averaged between 2 and 2.3 and he said he could live with that until the rollout begins after the new year.

Hell I could live with that for quite a while. I could actually stream Pandora at work then without fear of using too much data from force roaming.

Wow, this monster is nice. Just got it delivered. One thing I don't recall reading was that Swype is pre-loaded, which is great for me since I've been using Swype on my OG EVO from the jump. Also, the swype keyboard makes typing with one hand a bit more manageable.

What I did not realize about the keyboard is that the default Samsung keyboard either is actually SwiftKey or licenses the new SwiftKey Flow technology from them. I had read elsewhere that flow was a coming feature in an upcoming beta of SwiftKey but was very shocked to find it in the galaxy Note 2 in the default Samsung keyboard. So far, I have not strayed from the default Samsung keyboard and I'm not sure that I see a reason to at this time.

Anyone root yet? Why?

Rooted for custom recovery and for Adfree. I buy apps to support developers to get ads removed. However, websites and some apps don't have that option. Also for Root Explorer to get rid of Sprint system apps

This thing's got so much headroom, the bloatware doesn't bother me as much (which is one of the reasons why I rooted my OG EVO). Another reason I rooted last time was also to get hot spot but I found I rarely used the feature. This time around, I'll stay stock until I get real bored...which could take a while with this device.

I get rid of the crap I don't use on any phone. Don't need things running and checking stuff in the background.

It's not like I buy a brand new computer and since it is super fast I load a bunch of crap so I have 10 toolbars in IE and a whole system tray of programs running.

I'm really liking my Note 2. But it's not for everyone. Sometimes its size is awkward. Like in one handed operation in the car. There is a one handed operation setting, but I haven't tried it yet.

However, there are more times it's size is a plus than a negative. Just pointing out that it's not all roses.

It is quite the conversation piece. When I set it down on the conference table in meetings, people always stare and ask about it. It is a bonafide attention getter.

I was in the Church's Chicken drive thru on Monday, and the cashier at the window sees me checking S4GRU and she shreiks looking down into my car, "Oh my gosh! It is sooo big! Can I hold it?"

Everyone seems to want to know what it is, who carries it, how much, etc., etc. I had the GS3 early, and in comparison no one seemed to care.

Still waiting on one of Amazon's crazy sales. Isn't it about time for their 1¢ sale?

Agree 100%, no more doing stuff while driving.

Similar experience, others are impressed with using the s pen to take hand written notes on the notepad

I saw this on Samsung.com's accessories section, but they are currently back ordered until who knows when. $99 is what they want, but only comes in white. Not sure if my titanium colored phone will look weird in a white dock? :P

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
