Got the March security update this morning, which made me look in *#2263# again to see if they had enabled SA n25 finally. Sounds like it may have been an earlier carrier update, but either way I now have n25. Got it single-band locked now and might throw CellMapper on to track how many sites have it enabled in Austin. Only 10x10 here (PCS-G and adjacent 5x5) but low enough traffic I guess as I'm getting ~80 down ~22 up, so plenty enough for tethered connectivity.

n25 should aggregate with n41 and n71.    I see it aggregate in any order. Sometimes n41, sometimes n25 and sometimes n71 as the PCC.  I am in Pennsylvania.

Nice! Glad they're finally getting it on the S21 and S22. Made the jump to the S23 to get it out of the box haha.

Seeing that as well. Usually n41 + n25 + n71, but can be in pretty much any order. Typically n71 is a SCC, but occasionally see it as the PCC. Doesn't usually last long in that order.

Speed topped out at 113/28 or so on the n25 channel.

It's definitely not on every site, but in town there are enough sites including it to provide contiguous coverage at this point. Outside town, doesn't look like sites have it as much.

March 1st Play Store update appears to be out for our device (not sure when it came out).

I hadn't checked in the past 2-3 days but I can say that at least on my end, there were at least 2-3 updates past the first February one that also always still said Feb 1st after updating.   Wasn't sure what was up there.

Yeah I have noticed that too. Including when I checked yesterday, a small one installed, which kept it Feb 1st. It then said my system was up-to-date when I checked after that, but based on advice I checked again and that's when the March 1st showed up.

I forgot to come to the forum and post notification, but I was able to manually check last night and find the April security update available for download/install already on my unlocked S22+.

Is it just me or did Samsung change the camera app.  After this last update on my S22, the camera apparently, will not work unless I allow permission for nearby devices. Is this happening for anyone else?

Oops.

This maybe a false alarm.  I just cleared cache and data.  Now the camera seems to be working.

Update out tonight for my AT&T phone. Also, anyone else having issues with the USB port on an ultra? My AT&T phone will hardly charge when plugged in, not sure if the port has debris or physical damage. I've tried cleaning it the best I can and using different cables with no luck. No issues with my T-Mobile Ultra.

You tried different cables, but did you try a different charger?  Try connecting in a vehicle too.  Try wireless charging if you can.  Try leaving it go 100% dead and then charge it.   It could be a bad battery but try all of the above if you have not already.

Update is out for T-Mobile Locked. As for charging, no issues here. I concur with chambs suggestion to try a different charger.

You can also try cleaning the pins with some toilet paper and some alcohol. Use a paper clip or back of a sewing needle to push it in there.

Thanks, I'll try to clean it later. I've tried different charger and different cables and still have the issue. I can tell a difference plugging in the same cable on my AT&T S22 Ultra vs my T-Mobile S22 Ultra. AT&T feels much looser.

    • Just mapped at least 8 5G small cells (all 109xxxx gNBs) while driving on the Southern State. They all seem to be n25/n41. I'm pretty sure nearly all of them are upgrades of existing small cells as opposed to new builds but I'm glad to see Crown Castle/T-Mobile hard at work getting midband 5G on all of these. Each of the unpinned gNBs belong to 1-2 small cells. I still can't pin these sites until the Cellmapper devs give us the option to split cells for 5G sites.
    • Their offers have been crap recently, so this is just more evidence to not buy from T-Mobile.
    • T-Mobile Will Soon Prevent Early Payoff Of Phones Receiving Bill Credits If you finance a phone with T-Mobile it will remain locked until paid off but now you won't be able to pay off early. If you don't currently purchase your phones from the manufacturer here is another reason it might be a good idea.
    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — —  Old permit for this new install expired but a new one was recently issued. It's gonna be similar to the site at 360 Forman St in Brooklyn Heights. Permit calls for only 3 antennas to be installed so I'm assuming it gonna be Band 2/41/66 and n25/41 only which is a bit of a downgrade from the now decommissioned full build that was on 871 7th Ave but in it's current state the nearest macro is a few blocks away and a small cell at Broadway and 55th is doing a lot of heavy lifting in the area so anything helps.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
