My Note 8 phone just got a profile update this morning. Now all it does it lock on Band 2. When I have a Band 41 Tower right next to me.

I have a MB in the office and it doesn't hop on that now.

How can I change if it's possible?

Sounds like a lot of people getting pushed over to T-Mobile today. Might be able to get on support and get them to take ROAMAHOME off to let you back on Sprint. Trip had success with that, mileage will likely vary.

I'll try that. I'll start with Twitter support. I usually have luck with that.
I my phone hasn't been on any Sprint bands since the profile update.

I had to do it again today, as it reverted to T-Mobile on me around mid-day.  Took a very long time to get myself connected to the right person this time.  I got my phone back on Sprint again, and I'm told some type of block was put on to keep it from reverting again.  We'll see how it goes.

Who did u contact? I've been talking to them on Twitter msg and they don't seem to want to remove it but troubleshoot my phone.

I did Sprint chat from my account on the website.  The front line support folks didn't want to do it, but once I managed to get myself in touch with the technical support people, they were able to handle it.

Mostly the same with me. Told them I'm leaving so then someone from network team called me and after telling them my service went down they switched me back to Sprint network. My service at my house is better on Sprint.

This is new.  I picked up my phone a moment ago and found it roaming on T-Mobile.  Like, with the "R" icon and everything.  I toggled Airplane Mode a few times but it wouldn't switch back.  I checked and I could still toggle VoLTE off and on, so clearly ROAMAHOME wasn't to blame as the VoLTE switch is grayed out when that's enabled.  I toggled VoLTE off and then it switched back over to Sprint.  I've turned VoLTE back on and I'm still on Sprint now a few minutes later.

Very, very odd.

Question, with DSS, would that make future generation rollouts easier?  For example, when they start rolling out 6G, could they use DSS so they have have 5G and 6G share spectrum from day 1?  Or would they have to wait for the 6G version of DSS to do that?

Found my first site here in Colorado with band 41.

Also are the 5gnr radios look like two antennas that can be split in the middle?  I thought someone said those are commscope antennas but I can't remember if they are the new 5g nr.

Thanks

The large antennas with the crease down the middle support B/N 71 among others, so yes 5G. B/N 41 will broadcast from the smaller squarish antennas.

The past few days they added those antennas on a site by tower rd and peña Blvd.

Thank you, as you always have answer's.

Good to hear they continue to build out. Not sure how much spectrum they have to put toward N71 in Denver, may not be super fast but it's still 5G. Once they can really utilize the B41 spectrum for N41 across the city like Sprint did with B41 LTE, the capacity and speeds should really take off.

Also, does at&t use the same antenas?

Around here both AT&T and T-Mobile use Commscope products. Most Commscope antennas have the distinct crease down the center making them easy to identify and makes them look similar even though they use different models.

In STL Sprint and T-Mobile are the only two using these antennas that I've observed

I remember reading some comments on here recently about T-Mobile band 2 performing poorly. Is that widespread, or is my current awful experience because I keep getting onto a tiny 5MHz of it? Whenever my phone connects to band 2, I have a great signal, but data won't work unless I force my phone onto 3G, which picks up Sprint EVDO. Shouldn't matter, but it's a OnePlus 8 with a Sprint sim.

No issues with B2 here. Not sure if its 4x4 or 2x2 MIMO as my home site hasn't been modernized yet, its still 2,4,12 only for now. d027ca869a5c936c0f3cbf18bcabaeff.jpgdc5f7bebbcb3250bbc9c6ccb4dd9408a.jpg

Probably not needed yet. Haven't seen any of those in this region.

It seems that's all they're doing around Houston. Every n41/B41 installation comes with a Nokia AAFIA-MIMO installation.

They seem to perform worse in coverage than the equipment they're replacing.

Here's a before and after look at a recently upgraded T-Mobile site here. I'm not sure what the difference in the ground equipment is, but all of the upgraded sites around here are getting new ground equipment as well as adding antennas. Most of my area has already been completed with adding N71, so hopefully this makes the N41 overlay go much faster. I've also noticed sites with 2 eNB IDs are getting consolidated to a single eNB ID for LTE on 2/4(66)/12/71 even on 4, 5, and 6 sector sites with the upgrades.
