Being able to change LTE band priority is amazing. I bumped b26 up over b25 and now I have an even easier time staying on b26 when indoors. I'd recommend this if you're in an area with good 800MHz coverage and spend a good amount of time indoors.

Ultimately the network will decide, but when your phone needs to scan (or is nudged with a reset) you are better off in these situations. I often do this with B41, since the network frequently seems reluctant.

Oh, gotcha. The engineering screens also allow you to change the scan interval but I haven't felt the need to mess with that. Handoffs go pretty smoothly as is.

That was exactly what I wanted to know, do you have a link to the stock rooted rom?

For some reason XDA is down. The ROM will be in the nexus 6 forums under nexus 6 android development. Its the stock ROM that's put together by scscoler.

I factory reset my phone three times and pulled the ota. Can we get to engineering screen now?

I can access engineering screens on my new Nexus 6 (stock, upgraded to 5.1 via adb sideload).

So the results are in from my testing out android 5.1 on the nexus 6.  I have found that battery life is a little bit better.  i got about 10 hours and 5 minutes before it shut itself down.  normally i was getting about 9 to 9.5 hours depending on what i was doing.  I used my phone off and on today for various tasks.  The screen was halfway dimmed.  Hows everyone elses battery life?

Hey guys so silly question but anyone else experience the phone not reading their simcard after manually updating the phone?  It was working and then the phone died and when i restarted it it says No Sim Card - Emergency calls only.  I have tried removing and reinserting the sim card but no luck..

It could also be the network wasn't as utilized, or there happened to be less interference or many other things. The best way to tell is look at the signal you're receiving. 5.1 had some changes to the signal bars as well, it shows more bars for the same signal. Anything better than -100 rsrp on LTE is showing full signal on my nexus 5.

This happened to me :[ I had google maps open on the dash of my car... then next thing you know it shut off, and took a long time to start up, and gave me the same error. I had to wipe, and reflash. It's fine now.

Sounds like it is the N6 Verizon variant.  Some slight changes, but nothing that non Verizon users should use.

 

Also, how has noone not stated how awesome this update was in reference to sms / mms.  I know people said it was fixed, but boy that is an understatement.  I was waiting to update due to xposed, but I couldn't stand it.  I cannot believe how quickly this phone sends messages now.  I know this is standard now w/ LTE, but it is fantastic!
