iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus User Thread

I'm so torn about which phone to buy. All the Sprint stores I've called only have the 6 on display, not the plus. I need to hold both, but I just can't stand the amount of people in an Apple store this time of year. A few of my local stores actually have some 128's in stock, ready for full price purchase (I was shocked).

The corporate store I visited in Merrillville had both on display. Last place on earth I'd go to buy anything though...

Be careful with these iPhones, folks. Nbc Chicago just ran a story about people reporting their phones are being easily bent

Found this video and article also on macrumors. Doesn't look good guys. Don't use 6+ with skinny Jeans hahaha

Quick question for you guys:

I just upgraded from a 5 to a 6 Plus. I kept my old plan, the Everything Data plan with 450 minutes.

My iPhone 6 upload speeds seem to be "locked" at about 1 Mbps. Every speed test returns speeds very close to that.

When I switch the SIM to my iPhone 5, my upload speeds are immediately back to the 6 or 7 Mbps that are normal for the tower I'm connecting to. (I used field test mode to ensure I was connecting to the same site). It is band 25 and signal strength shows -80 dBm)

At first I thought it could be the tower prioritization thing, but I highly doubt this for a number of reasons:

1) the Everything Data plan doesn't include the same terms as the newer unlimited plans regarding lesser prioritization

2) Switching back to my iPhone 5 immediately restores my upload speeds back to normal

3. Although I might be in the top 5 percent of data users, this still doesn't make sense as I'm not sure that applies to the Everything Data plan, not to mention my speeds go back to normal when switching back to the iPhone 5... And I'm not using my phone to stream constantly on my TV or anything abuseful like that as is prohibited.

Ideas, anyone?

Edit: by the way, I'm still on band 25 with full LTE Signal (Field test still shows -80 dBm)... And considering it is 1:37 AM, and a quick speediest shows speeds of 19 Mbps down but still limited to 1 Mbps up (almost every test is beteeen .9 and 1.1 Mbps, it feels very artificial), I'm relatively certain this isn't a tower prioritization issue.... and I've updated PRL and all that too..

Did you restore from a backup to your 6'? And have you tried using "Reset Network Settings"? Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings.

It can happen with any phone lol.

This may be true, but most would expect  any other device to bend but a "much regarded premium device" like an iPhone to do that just plain sucks. Folks expect that out of plastic covered phones like those made by Samsung, but an iPhone? I didn't think so and yet here we are, Where the iPhones bend much easier than a Galaxy ever would. (At least from what I've seen in the videos)

I'm sure that's comforting for all the folks who stood in line and shelled out money for this phone...

Actually I don't think it matters if one had stayed on line for hours, days weeks or bought it on line. It sucks either way, regardless if it happens to an iPhone or any other device.

But to be perfectly honest, I do not see why anyone would want to sit down with a phone in their pocket, regardless if its in the front or back.

The thing with plastic bending is that it is behaving in an elastic way and will regain its form assuming you don't bend it until it breaks.  The iphone, being metal, is bending (or deforming) in a non-elastic way (plastic deformation) and is not regaining it's form even with the slightest bend.  It also seems that heat makes things worse since it makes the metal more malleable.

I can understand this logic. But heres the thing....apple used aluminum... A malleable metal. It's going to bend.  You apply enough force to anything with enough contact area, and it will bend. It's physics lol. Plastic bends, but it also flexes back to normal in most cases. Aluminum likes to maintain its new shape, because it's metal. (but I'm preaching to the choir here). It's just funny that this will be used against apple.

Not to be an apologist, but I don't see the big deal people are making. It's an extremely EXPENSIVE and THIN lightweight phone. Shouldn't you be treating it with care anyways? I haven't used a case on my macbook pro and it's still in pristine condition. Treat things with care and they won't get broken. Put a phablet in your front pocket and lean and bend and push it against your leg all day, it's going to warp at least a little. And anyone that puts their phone in the back pocket and sits on it is an idiot. You should not sit on any device....

I would fathom a guess that the people who are bending their phones do not have the phone in a protective case.

My dad always puts his in his back pocket and sits on it. I never understood why anyone would want to do this. I have back issues so sitting on something like my iPhone wouldn't ever happen.

As far as it bending... Put the phone in a case! Problem solved. I like the phone better with a case on it anyways. It's just a little too slick without it.

My brother isn't using a case and his phone is fine. Just have to be careful with your devices.

That is very true.  For myself, I know that I am not the easiest of users.  I have ordered the Spigen case that you and several others mentioned just to give myself a little more insurance...

I agree about the need to be careful but remember some of those same people bent the iPhone 5 just to prove it .. Which also made the news

Lol, this I did not know. So just the same people bashing a brand because they don't like it. Eh...

Also, that update came out quick. Holy crap. Good on Apple.
