  1. Thought that you guys would be interested in hearing... Heres a thread on Reddit /r/tmobile https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/342wr7/tmobile_is_now_throttling_unlimited_data/
  2. Was anyone else with this issue able to get it resolved or any more info? I wasn't able to make my Genius Bar appointment and have been putting it off since.
  3. Well, just a small update. I sent a detailed explanation of the issue (including all my efforts to fix it, my discussion with Sprint chat, and a link to this thread, etc) to Spint Social care and I revieced a call back today. They recommended that I return the phone, either to Apple or to Sprint. I think I may have to end up doing that, and using my iPhone 5 in the interim. I should still be able to get my upgrade and everything back since I'm within the 14 days until this is sorted out. I'll call Sprint tomorrow and try to escalate it to someone who legitimately knows what they are talking about on a technical level. Thanks for the comments everyone, and please continue to chime in it you have any additional info or experiences. The more information, the better. Michael
  4. I never installed 8.0.1, thankfully. Currently running 8.0.2 with no change in speeds.
  5. Thanks Richard! That reassures me that it's not just a defective phone. It's a very odd issue...
  6. Yeap, other speed test apps return the same results.
  7. Good point, that's a factor I totally forgot to control for, didn't even think of that. Unfortunately the results are still the same - getting about 17 or 18 down (which is just fine) and a max of about 1.1-1.2 Mbps up right now, at 11:50 PM. Same serving cell, signal currently -82 dBm. And I guess I want to add, so everyone knows, I don't bring this up because 1 Mbps isn't good enough (it's fine for what I need my phone for.) Just curious as to what could be causing this, and know it won't get worse in the future..
  8. YungRated619, all the info on specific Band 41 deployments is in the Premier Sponsor section which is achieved with a $100 donation or $100 total donated over time. As far as what is there specifically as far as actual locations, that'd probably be something a moderator or Robert (S4GRU, website owner) would have to chime in on Here is the info on donating: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/
  9. Hey guys, Having an issue with my iPhone 6 Plus upload speeds on band 25. To put it quite simply, they never seem to go much over 1 Mbps, even with great signal (around -80 dBm or better). I was told by Sprint support chat that this was a known issue (by Sprint and Apple) and a fix would come eventually, but I don't know if this is something I should trust and wanted to see what you guys would do in this situation or if anyone can confirm the bug. The highest upload speed on the 6 i have seen is 1.52 Mbps (and that was only once - 90 percent of tests, even in middle of night, are between .9 and 1.1mbps), while my 5 always averaged 6-7 Mbps upload speed (and still does). I have the latest PRL, latest iOS software, and Sprint has made sure my account and SIM are fine. I'm in San Diego and we have band 25 LTE only. To illustrate, here the field test screens and speed tests on my 5 and then my 6 Plus, respectively, both from same location and under same conditions. Both tests are using the same SIM card as well. (Sorry about the TV noise in the background!) Made a new thread because I didn't want to take up too much room on the iPhone general 6/6 Plus thread, if it should be there, please move it ! iPhone 5: www.imgur.com/kpi6q4x www.imgur.com/mRT9T4r Speed test (YouTube): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JppNCbLMNlg&list=UUB9Kl-KKVAmk-DqGtA2Vm0g iPhone 6 Plus: www.imgur.com/LnqwFzB www.imgur.RVSkDtb Speed test (YouTube): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_U9irqPY028&list=UUB9Kl-KKVAmk-DqGtA2Vm0g Would love any thoughts on this. Thanks all!
  10. It very well could be a band 25 bug. I know people often say to take what support reps say with a grain of salt, but she seemed very confident that it was a known issue, so I'm hoping it will be fixed sooner rather than later.
  11. Just a follow up on this for anyone who is interested: I talked to a Sprint rep via support chat. She was very thorough, and made sure to reset and update everything on their end, my end, etc. Ultimately, after quite awhile confirming it was nothing wrong with my account and such, she was then able to let me know that this is a known issue that both Sprint and Apple are aware of and are working on a fix. I asked it it was nationwide, and she said she assumed it was because she was able to confirm that Apple was aware of the problem and working on it.
  12. I'm going to talk to Sprint now and see what they have to say. If nothing comes of that, I'll go to Apple. Thank you very much. (And if anyone else has any thoughts, please let me know )
  13. I set up the 6 as a new phone (as performance always seems to be better). I've tried about everything, and the reset network settings as well now. It's very odd. Even with a VPN (which I use very rarely), upload speeds seem limited to 1 Mbps. Someone suggested it could be the band 25 antenna design, but I find it hard to believe because watching the speed tests run, they seem to start out fast and then drop down to around 1 Mbps immediately.. Late last night, when I was getting about 18-20 down, upload speeds increased to about 1.3 up, but still doesn't feel right. It feels oddly artificial. I'm really confused!
  14. Quick question for you guys: I just upgraded from a 5 to a 6 Plus. I kept my old plan, the Everything Data plan with 450 minutes. My iPhone 6 upload speeds seem to be "locked" at about 1 Mbps. Every speed test returns speeds very close to that. When I switch the SIM to my iPhone 5, my upload speeds are immediately back to the 6 or 7 Mbps that are normal for the tower I'm connecting to. (I used field test mode to ensure I was connecting to the same site). It is band 25 and signal strength shows -80 dBm) At first I thought it could be the tower prioritization thing, but I highly doubt this for a number of reasons: 1) the Everything Data plan doesn't include the same terms as the newer unlimited plans regarding lesser prioritization 2) Switching back to my iPhone 5 immediately restores my upload speeds back to normal 3. Although I might be in the top 5 percent of data users, this still doesn't make sense as I'm not sure that applies to the Everything Data plan, not to mention my speeds go back to normal when switching back to the iPhone 5... And I'm not using my phone to stream constantly on my TV or anything abuseful like that as is prohibited. Ideas, anyone? Edit: by the way, I'm still on band 25 with full LTE Signal (Field test still shows -80 dBm)... And considering it is 1:37 AM, and a quick speediest shows speeds of 19 Mbps down but still limited to 1 Mbps up (almost every test is beteeen .9 and 1.1 Mbps, it feels very artificial), I'm relatively certain this isn't a tower prioritization issue.... and I've updated PRL and all that too..
  15. Awesome, thank you. I talked to Sprint Support and they told me the nearest Spark I could find that was broadcasting was in San Clemente, ha. I figure they just looked at the normal map, probably not checking whether any other towers were broadcasting and not mapped yet. Either way, I'll find some somewhere just to run some Speed Tests and such. Unfortunately it's an iPhone so I can't collect all the same info I could on Android, but I just want to see the speeds and such myself. I agree, the city (downtown) needs it most. I'm lucky, the normal LTE here in the College Area (San Diego State area) is fantastic. But Spark will take it to another level, eventually ! Can't wait, and I agree budenny, hopefully we will be "prioritized" at least a little bit, considering lack of LTE 800 in short term due to IBEZ.
