Any of you who flashed L get MMS working?

Flashing and MMS?  Former congressman Anthony Weiner approves that message.

Mine does this all the time. .16 radio. Have LTE then falls back to 1x. Evdo if it can't find lte it. I'm about done with this phone. Most problems I've ever had. Seems to be LTE and 1x phone. Don't think it likes CDMA to much. I have to try this on att. Can I place a Sim in this and try it?

Yup, the newer radios seem to be better for att than the older ones. The .15 radio is especially bad.

The .08 baseband is pretty bad on T-Mobile. All around I still find .15 best for all carriers(ATT, Sprint, and Tmobile) I'm talking signal wise.

The new ones seem to preform better on att for me. Compared to a 5s on .15 my n5 was a bit worse (2-3dbm). On the two newest radios it's 5-6dbm better than the same 5s.

Ugh, getting the camera daemon battery drain for the first time. 4.4.4. How do I fix this? epyrymyv.jpg

Just reboot. There's still no known definite cause, but reboots fix it. Did you recently install an app that uses the camera?

I flashed 4.4.4 again because I wasn't ready for some of the bugs otherwise I would have confirmed this or not. Just thought I'd share for those of us who experienced the issue in the hopes if could remedy it.

Well I'll tell you this the bug is with hangouts. But I tried hello SMS and it works perfect except it compresses the hell out of your photos.

I haven't had any issues here. I assume you tried a profile/PRL update?

EDIT: Also try typing *#*#72786#*#* in the dialer. It will reset the network settings and re-provision the phone

Mine has since fixed itself, and if I'm not mistaken it self activated on its own... I had no signal for about 15 minutes in a decent sprint area (no roaming either), then after a couple radio swaps (ending back on the one I started) it asked me to chose are carrier and then bam! -80dbm Ehrpd signal.

It's a bug with selinux permissions. You'll run into it if you've ever restored a data partition backup before. Run this from a root shell and reboot:

restorecon -R -v /data/misc

Got it working again doing this, thank you for the info.

Anyone receiving duplicate texts since 4.4.4? I've narrowed it down to a problem with iPhones on Verizon Wireless, but curious to see if anyone else is experiencing this.

This happens to me occasionally. I notice I'm usually on CDMA (3G/1X), not LTE, when it happens. It first started on 4.4.3, but I haven't had it happen recently on 4.4.4.

That's unrelated to phone software. It's a network side issue.

I don't believe this is a problem inherent to the N5, but rather a bad file on your device. If all else fails, try a factory reset. It almost sounds like you have a profile or PRL issue.

It's a Verizon thing. It used to happen to me all the time even when I was with AT&T. Always got duplicates from Verizon customers.

When VZW starts pushing VoLTE, it needs to bring back that guy.

Can you hear me now?  Can you hear me now?  CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?!  Screw it, just switch the voice mode back to CDMA.

    • Kind of amazing that T-Mobile is still holding onto that speed title despite Verizon all but killing off lowband 5G on their network. While Verizon is mostly being evaluated on mmWave and C-band performance, T-Mobile and AT&T's average 5G speeds include their massive lowband 5G networks that are significantly slower.
    • 5G in the U.S. – Additional Mid-band Spectrum Driving Performance Gains T-Mobile holds on to it's lead in 5G Speed
    • Yup. Very true. We were originally on an Everything Data 1500 Plan, which got Unlimited Minutes thanks to Marcelo's "Loyalty Benefits" offer. We then switched to Unlimited Freedom (with the Free HD add-on that Sprint originally wanted $20/month per line for.... remember that?) because the pricing was better with "iPhone for Life", vs. the "Loyalty Credit" for staying on a Legacy Plan. After that, I ran the numbers and switched us over to Sprint MAX, especially for the international travel benefits. There's absolutely no reason for us to switch to Go5G Plus or Go5G Next if we're going to do BYOD by purchasing from Apple/Samsung/Google directly as we've been doing. These new plans aren't priced for current customers to switch to. They're priced for new customers, where they throw in a free line, etc. It's gone from "Uncarrier" to "Carrier". What a shame.
    • Strange business model that they keep around all these pricing plans. 1000s of plans per carrier is reportedly not uncommon.  Training customer support must be a nightmare. Even MVNOs have legacy plans. A downside of their contract mentality I guess. Best to change contracts during a recession. But then all carriers try to squeeze out legacy plan benefits as they grow old.
    • Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....
