I updated to the latest Google Play Services, Newest Camera and Newest Hangouts. It seems to have solved my battery drain. This picture is from when I last unplugged it at work yesterday. I hardly used it today as I enjoyed the great weather today. Total screen on time is about 3 hours. I'm on stock, unrooted. As you can see it was on my Wifi most of the time.

That's a pretty nasty drop in battery around the middle of that graph. Do you have the brightness on your phone set to retina burning?

It's set to auto.

Can someone pm me a link to modify the nexus 5 PRL. Whipped out the EVO LTE with the modded PRL and I'm getting 1x 800 and wants to try it out on my nexus.

Do my kiddos who just moved to an active tri-band area (Ft. Worth) need to do anything for band 41 to work?

Well, I should have said does the DiL with an N5 need to do anything as the son just has an iphone 5s and it's a moot point for him.

Are we still waiting for a Google update?

Update PRL or profile?

Update firmware?

 

Please excuse the question without research as I'm at work and will have to wait until I get home to rummage around the thread(s).

To connect to band 41 the only way(as far as I know) right now is to back up your efs and flash the .15 radio. It'll still be hit or miss even in mature markets with ecsfb/csfb completely finished.

You can get b41 on any baseband. If you get it with .23 then keep it on that or .17. .15 will get it most likely but has issues connecting to sites without csfb/ecsfb. I use .15 because calls and text don't matter as much as to me, and only in one small area In Tyler has any issues like that

Moto E may come with 4.4.3 (according to the fine print from its promo video), and it will probably be released May 20. If true, the Nexus 5 should have 4.4.3 by that date.

The demo units have 4.2.2. The inclusion of that 4.4.3 in the video is probably there because 4.4.3 was supposed to be out by now

Because its a nexus device...historically they have always gotten new versions of android first.

But, the Moto E might just as well be shipping with 4.4.2. The ad only states it will receive, eventually, an update to 4.4.3.

You should probably doubt me. 

 

As jordanlong20 pointed out, the demo versions of the Moto E had 4.4.2 running meaning they will probably be running that when it comes out.  However, Motorola was under the impression that the Moto E would be running its "current KitKat 4.4.3 operating system" at debut and that it would receive at least one more update after 4.4.3.  Now, I guess, it will receive two updates at least: one for 4.4.3 and the other one that was promised in the fine print.  That or the fine print was just a mistake.  If you re-read jordanlong20's post above he said "4.2.2" when he meant "4.4.2."  These update numbers are tricky, so Motorola could have just made a mistake.

 

As far as why the Nexus 5 would receive 4.4.3 first, according to the Nexus 5 info page:

With a new sim card im still getting the data drop on 3g.  It happens for a split second and come back.  My s4 that i was on for a week didn't do it once!  Never seen an important update take so long to roll out.  I love the design of the nexus 5.  Would it be caused from esfb issue?  I dont know how to check to see if its that.    

 

now that i swapped phone online i got the msl number sent email now to test.

It is likely dropping 3G to scan for LTE. Put it in 3G only mode and see if you still get the dropouts. This will likely not be fixed with the update as the single-path radio is physically unable to scan for LTE while keeping a 3G signal.
