  1. Never mind on the above post, I gave up and just put root and a custom recovery on it. Quick question: How come my SignalCheckPro doesn't show the LTE Band like I've seen on a few screenshots here?
  2. I can't quite figure out why my system had no driver issues when I run adb reboot recovery, but once it is in recovery it tells me that there are no drivers for my device. I am running the latest adb via the SDK update. Some things I've done: 1) Change USB Cable/Port 2) Uninstall drivers, install manually 3) Make sure I run the update for the SDK and have USB driver under EXTRAS checked 4) Download the USB driver on my own and try to install that way. No luck! Any ideas?
  3. http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217 The OTA has been posted for 4.4.3
  4. I'm rather certain that after 6 months that most logic for the passionate types has gone out the window. Shine on you crazy diamond. Mash away!
  5. Obviously I knew that if I was having fun with you about it. I just had to raz someone named MacinJosh for getting it mixed up.
  6. Probably because Google doesn't do anything related to WWDC.
  7. Google Now gave me a card about the Nexus 8 that lead me to a site that instantly tried to install an apk when the page loaded. I know a lot of people love Google Now, but I find it mostly useless outside of the weather. I had to turn off public transportation simply because there are about 20 options within a block of my office in downtown Chicago. Sure it gives me my favorite team scores but it consistently spams me with other teams despite selecting NO to seeing other teams about 5 times. The most ridiculous card comes from "things you researched."
  8. I updated to the latest Google Play Services, Newest Camera and Newest Hangouts. It seems to have solved my battery drain. This picture is from when I last unplugged it at work yesterday. I hardly used it today as I enjoyed the great weather today. Total screen on time is about 3 hours. I'm on stock, unrooted. As you can see it was on my Wifi most of the time.
  9. Is there a reason why this phone continues to go to GLOBAL when LTE is recommended under Preferred Network Type?
  10. And I purchased it based off of that. I didn't realize it couldn't handle Spark until I came here wondering why my speeds were so low. Certainly annoyed but it isn't the end of the world. It will make me hesitant on my next purchase and puts another notch in the column for considering a move to TMO and the cheaper plans off contract.
  11. Considering that network is already established and running on other phones, that feels more like a tinfoil hat approach to what is going on. Thanks for confirming what seemed like an obvious setup. Not sure I get the complaints, we know it will be here by Monday. Considering we have waited months for it, another day or two isn't going to change much in the big picture.
  12. What is the app of choice these days to monitor wake locks?
  13. At this point I have no idea what I am looking forward to more: actual battery life again or the Sparc update.
  14. Has anyone had issues with the phone automatically switching from 3G to LTE? I ride the brown line in Chicago quite a bit and there are some large LTE dead zones along that route. On my HTC One I would lose LTE as I was passing through the Ranch Triangle/Old Town region and it would quickly pick LTE a few blocks past that. With my new N5 on the same Sprint network it will switch over to 3G and stay there until I flip the airplane mode. I've taken about 2 dozen trips across this region in the last week and it happens every time.
