Yea but its the first LTE signal I've gotten in my apartment for a while at -120db. Upload didn't do anything but hey it's a sign that its getting closer.

Yeah probably when LTE is fully deployed you'll have a better signal .

I have LTE now and I wasn't even lookin for it. If it was just this easy. But seriously it's really almost anywhere I go. I look at my phone at one place and it says 3G and the next place LTE. I must get it at least 10 times a day.

Same here on my daily commutes to campus.

Wow so right now my signal is -57 in my house, it's usually around -80 through -101 range. This time I placed a phone call and it worked because last time it was this good I couldn't make calls. Even if this is temp like all the time I at least know my tower is still being worked on and it is going to be awesome!

Why? Do you want to see a pretty press release with NYC on it? Your coverage will not instantly change due to some press release.

Sent from my little Note2

People are conditioned to think that way because that's how the Bells and Deutsche Telekom does their rollouts. Although, to be fair, the 1900 HSPA rollout has been pretty much by tower as well.

Tmobile is hyping up their 1900mhz because they are supposedly gonna have the iPhone. I currently have a prepaid tmobile account with truly unlimited hspa and I get speeds like 5mbps on avg

That is GREAT news.

What phone are you using now? To get a -57dB signal from a -80dB means that they made some physical tilt adjustments as well.

Oh Jesus! Noticed I had like 2 bars so I randomly did a speed test and got this:

Yea I think they're working on the tower closest to me because I've only been connecting to this distant LTE tower (most likely the LTE tower I previously posted about). Hence the weak signal where I usually get 3-4.5 solid bars in my apartment.

Nice. Where was that?

intersection of 38th avenue and Parsons Blvd in Flushing. it was around -80dbm. The tower is going in and out of LTE signal for the past two weeks. i think signal is getting strong.

    • Your referring to the $25.00 a month Infinite Unlimited plan?  I don't see any other plans on there even cheaper than that on their website.  I was looking at the Motorola 2023 Edge fwiw as well for $10.00 a month.
    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
