What about Phoenix? What about Phoenix? What about Phoenix???
I get asked that every day. Sometimes several times per day! On social media, our forum pages and our chat rooms are filled with Phoenicians and Arizonans who feel they have been more than patient with Sprint awaiting for first 4G WiMax and now just even to hear an announcement on 4G LTE.
And here we are, S4GRU.com has announced all of th

In an article on the Seeking Alpha website today, the writer posts many reasons why investors should invest in Clearwire. Lots of good and valid points. But given the press', and most specifically the financial press', overt dislike of Clearwire, I was very surprised by the report.
Take a read of the article by clicking on the link or the image at left. Feel free to add your thoughts below.

I decided to break from my Thanksgiving merriment to bring you breaking news that AT&T has decided to withdraw it's Application to the FCC for it's merger with T-Mobile. However, even though technically the merger is off with this change, AT&T says they are not giving up completely.

This is an exciting article about new System-on-Chip (SoC) chipsets coming out for LTE that will run on all frequencies between 700MHz and 3.5GHz. If Sprint used something like this, it would allow for a lot of LTE flexibility in the future.
Currently, Sprint has only announced LTE on 1900 only. However, Sprint can be running LTE on as many as 8 different frequencies in the next few years (700, 800, 900, 1500, 1600, 190
An article was posted on the Seeking Alpha website titled, "How Sprint & Clearwire Can Use AT&T to Unlock Billions in Value." It's a very interesting read that went over details why it would be wise for Sprint to buy Clearwire out right. This is something I never would have ever recommended before reading the article.
It's a long read, but raises some very interesting points. If Sprint could master a Clearwire buy out in a way exactly as mentioned in the article, it could work and b

Earlier this week, the Samsung SPH-L900 authorization filing hit the FCC OET (Office of Engineering and Technology) database. Some of you are aware that S4GRU maintains a gift account/scholarship account. When a member cannot afford to renew or upgrade, we draw from this account to help others in need. It seems like this year we have had more people down on their luck than in past years, and our scholarship account has been fully depleted. We use this to fund not only people dow
Normally the licenses with the overlapping geographic service areas "split the football" by straight line of the intersection area of the two radius circle areas for just the shared frequencies. However private deals between the parties are also possible, and have been encouraged by the FCC in some situations when the service areas overlap by more than 50%. The special conditions section on the admin page of the NW Spectrum leases can be said to support this: "This spectrum lease does not incl
My only question is what happens when EBS licenses overlap? Do we know how it's determined who uses what and where? For example in NYC, NW Spectrum (NextWave) has two leases that apply to 2624-2640.5MHz covering all of NYC but T-Mobile also leases that same slice of EBS from someone else that covers most of NYC, but not all.
Check it out here:
