No. Sprint only has 30 MHz in PCS+G band in Houston (all non continuous and scattered). But I do expect it to happen soon. There is currently one voice carrier (channel 350) and 3 EVDO carriers (325, 775, 750 iirc) in the PCS band and the usual 5x5 LTE carrier on the G block.

 

Sprint is only focusing their efforts in the Stadium area and midtown area (which really needs it). Unfortunately, Midtown is only seeing COWs (as is midtown I think). All small cells (which I have yet to find) are alleged to be around the stadium.

If they did, then they either haven't turned them on or have only focused on the immediate area surrounding the stadium and practice facility. As far as the neighborhoods nearby, I saw nothing but clearwire B41 or B25/26

Very good near towers. At least 50 Mbps with CA. Unfortunately, that's it. Once you lose Line of Sight from the towers, you're at the mercy of overloaded Band 26/25 (which pretty much means indoors). Houston has a few 8t8r antennas, but mostly Clearwire so no 3 CA readily available.

 

As far as the woodlands, you will find service works well in high transit areas (mall and businesses along the freeway), but terrible in residential areas. The growing sprawl has been too fast for Sprint to keep up with.

 

Overall, Sprint is dead last in Houston as far as data speeds. But Sprint is also probably the best carrier for call reliability. I don't recommend Sprint here in Houston and have deterred friends from switching. I'm in the process of leaving.

Looks like whatever CA issue got resolved. I'm regularly getting speeds higher than expected on CAx2 as I've tested periodically over the last couple of days. I'll go out of my way to try a high signal area at off peak hours to confirm that it is in fact 3xCA kicking in.

I can confirm 3xCA in my market(Samsung)  I've had a speed test of 175mbps down.

Wholesale added 673k. Kinda balances things a bit. But prepaid is something I think they need to do some brand consolidation.

prepaid is already port positive in December.  These numbers are from last quarter, stale data.  You have to look at the numbers and listen to the earnings call to see the direction of the company.  

 

That's why the stock is up this morning.

I have not looked real hard at the numbers but how come they had negative cash flow?

 

Negative cash flow is after interest expense of 600 million. 

 

Positive operating cash flow of 300 million. 

 

Liquidity of 6B on the books and lines of credit for another 3B.  They have 3B in debt due in 2017.   The way this is going, Sprint will be positive FCF in 2 quarters.

      I think the push for them is adding US Mobile as a MVNO with a priority data plan.  Ultimately, making people more aware of priority would allow them (and other carriers) to differentiate themselves from MVNOs like Consumer Cellular that advertise the same coverage. n77 has dramatically reduced the need for priority service at Verizon where the mere functioning of your phone was in jeopardy a couple of years ago if you had a low priority plan like Red Pocket. Only have heard of problems with T-Mobile in parts of Los Angeles. AT&T fell in between. All had issues at large concerts and festivals, or sporting events if your carrier has no on-site rights. Edit: Dishes native 5g network has different issues: not enough sites, limited bandwidth. Higher priority would help a few. Truth is they can push phones to AT&T or T-Mobile.

      Tracfone AT&T sims went from QCI 8 to 9 as well a couple years ago. I'm pretty neutral towards AT&T's turbo feature here, the only bad taste left was for those who had unadvertised QCI 7 a couple months ago moved down to 8. In my eyes it would have been a lot better for AT&T to include turbo in those Premium/Elite plans for free to keep them at QCI 7, while also introducing this turbo add on option for any other plans or devices. As it stands now only a handful of plans can add it, and only if you're using a device on a random list of devices AT&T considers to be 5G smartphones.

      My Red Pocket AT&T GSMA account was dropped to QCI 9 about a year ago.  Most recently 8 for the last few years prior.  Voice remains at 5.

Based on how I was treated with my Credit Limit, it's definitely not the same company it was before the merger, and it's entirely possible they'd try it.
