First thing I did when I woke up just now was to look at my phone.  Still connected to Band 41, but my TAC is now 20243, matching T-Mobile.

Is there a way to see this on an iPhone?

TACs match in Omaha too at 46335.

Google says to get into Field Test:

https://osxdaily.com/2018/05/02/use-field-test-mode-iphone-x-ios/

It might be under Serving Cell Info rather than Serving Cell Measurements but I can't seem to find a picture indicating what is in Serving Cell Info to know for sure.

Thanks!

Under Serving Cell Info -> dl_freq it's switching back and forth between 41490 and 41492.

Thank you. I went to Serving Cell Info -> dl_freq and it's going back and forth between 41490 and 41492.

Does that mean anything?

Sprint Stock data no longer shows on NASDAQ: https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/s

It's real.

Thanks. So I'm looking at the right number for TAC?

dl_freq is the downlink frequency, not the TAC.

Since the Internet seems to have no pictures whatsoever of what that screen looks like, I can't tell you what Apple might have called it.  If your part of the DC market is like mine and has moved to the T-Mobile TAC values, it should be something like 20234 or 20236.  Mine in Alexandria is 20243.  You get the idea of the range of values.

I forced my phone to T-mobile this morning on my drive in but didn't notice much difference yet. Speed is still throttled to 5/5 and there were still a handful of towers my phone wouldn't connect to once I got into Louisville.

Within the Service Cell Info, I found the TAC labeled as Tracking Area Code. I kinda figured it might be the correct one.

Sprint has created the landing page for Sprint/T-Mobile merger. If the rumors for the merger finalizing tomorrow are true, the link should work:

sprint.com/merger

Right now you'll see a 404 page error but if you look at the url, it changes to: sprint.com/en/landings/welcome-to-tmo.html?ECID=vanity:tmomerger. It's probably a welcome to T-Mobile page.

This is live now

Q: Do Sprint customers need to do anything?

A: For now, all customers will stay with the same Sprint and T-Mobile network, stores, and service they’ve been using.

Q: Will customers need to switch devices today?

A: ...For now, customers will use two distinct networks, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Not seeing any Day 0 network sharing outside of the roaming agreement

For those with iPhones, it looks like you go to LTE-> NAS in the Field Test mode. Look for tai_list and you should see TAC listed

Awesome!  Just looked and I'm on 47359 in Dayton OH, under the Cincinnati market.

Effective at the beginning of today’s trading session, T-Mobile will trade on the NASDAQ on a combined basis under the ticker symbol “TMUS.” The Sprint shares will no longer trade on the New York Stock Exchange.

It's dead, Jim.

    • Your referring to the $25.00 a month Infinite Unlimited plan?  I don't see any other plans on there even cheaper than that on their website.  I was looking at the Motorola 2023 Edge fwiw as well for $10.00 a month.
    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
