Why does the tmobile variant have b25/26? And why no 41 support if it has the other two?

All firmware dictated.  Only one hardware variant.

Would be interesting to see what happens if you insert a Google Project Fi SIM into the device

Just like any other device. It will not intelligently swap between providers but you can manually select if you want tmobile, uscc, or sprint as the primary.

Hopefully they release a unlocked version of the Note 7 early on. Similar to the Galaxy variants they just released. It would be nice to have without all the carrier bloat installed, and faster updates.

USCC is using Sprint for roaming right?  Why doesn't their variant support 41?

Because they just do not.  USCC roamers inbound on Sprint do not get to use band 41.

They do actually depending on the device. I've had USCC guys over at team uscc forums verify their LTE b41/25/26 connections when roaming in sprint territories.

Who?  iPhoners?  As a matter of course, Android USCC variants seem to exclude/excise band 41, possibly at USCC behest.

ohhh another phone with 2xCA B25, looks like sprint might be interested in B25CA considering they are starting to launch multiple B25 carriers all over the U.S.

Sprint would require new hardware at each site to do this. The current RRUs aren't capable of it. It's not going to happen in the foreseeable future.

I believe outside of Clearwire LTE, all Sprint B41 equipment is capable of 3x CA on B41. It's just a matter of installing a new a new carrier card (which should be fast and painless) and some software modifications.

The real question is when will Sprint start replacing Clearwire equipment? Lots of major markets need to be striped of Clear equipment in order to move forward with 3x CA deployment. New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Houston, Denver, and other cities have a good chunk of B41 originating from Clearwire equipment. Sprint could definitely fire up 3x CA on a 'need' basis, but doubt that happens since their network is suffering from terrible congestion on B26/B25 in so many places that have Clearwire B41.

Nope. Only 8t8r 2.5 equipment and select small cell equipment. All software settings in the eNB.

Specs are just underwhelming, worse camera imo, hardly any faster imo my Note 5 felt a lot better than my S7 that I had briefly. The only thing it has going for it is the battery and even then its a disappointment as the S7 Edge has a bigger battery, Samsung really dropped the ball here.

Sprint is more interested in swapping spectrum to do 10x10. By the time they could do 2Xca they could do 10x10 everywhere they have 5x5. All they have to do is swap and, that 2nd 5x5 carrier is gone.

I would not mind getting the microSD back along with a few of the other new features.  The USB C would mean i need a new gear VR though, hope they have a free Gear VR promo

    • These creditors are going to get screwed one way or another. I see no exit for them that will be painless. Rule # 1 - Never get in bed with Charlie.

    • I don't disagree entirely but a lot of the really rural coverage (like where I grew up) still has little or no competition.  There is a lot of overlap but there are also a number of unique sites that will help things. But also, the fact is that a lot of the rural T-Mobile coverage is still "map filler" coverage that doesn't actually provide reliable service.  This will help. https://imgur.com/a/LRWF3FO Using where I grew up as an example, magenta is T-Mobile, blue is US Cellular, and gold are unique sites Shentel planned but didn't get a chance to construct before the buyout derailed things. EDIT: And even a number of the T-Mobile sites shown here are Shentel conversions.  The only reason for the site NW of Keysville is that Shentel built that one before the buyout pause.  The site southwest of Meherrin wasn't a Shentel conversion, although Shentel did plan to build there, but rather was added to fill a gap along US-360 when the Shentel conversions were taking place.  Three of the five sites in Farmville proper are Shentel conversions also, as is the one north of town just barely on the map. - Trip
