    4G Information
  1. Got my tracking number this morning. Direct from Samsung for the unlocked version. Freebies have the same tracking number so they will be together! Says 2 business days so I am guessing Thursday accounting for the holiday. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. I think the device is capable of 4x CA. The network is not running 4x though. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. What is EARFCN? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. I am pretty sure that is how the Note 7 went too. The labels were all staged and then they released them all at once. T-mobile did ship early if I remember correctly. Sprint was next and BB waited for launch day. I still remember the Note 4 Verizon was a week late even for pre-order customers. The guy next to me when I picked mine up hadn't been told so he showed up and his wasn't there. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. I am still glad I went directly through Samsung. Unlocked version and should still beat BB. The last couple devices have been a nightmare at BB so not spending half a day in the store will be worth what ever timing works out. My freebies are listed to ship with the phone so there is that too. Not waiting 6 weeks for the add ons. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. To my knowledge this is the 1st time that they have claimed that they would have priority shipping. Since they are ultimately in charge they should be able to manage that. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. I understand how we got here. At the end of the day it is a Samsung product. If they told the world they were shipping 1st, they should have had a system to ensure that they shipped 1st. This is not a unique situation. Retailers that use release dates have always had this problem. Use Nike and Jordan as an example. Foot Locker didn't honor Nike's wishes, at first nothing happened. After consistent disregard for the rules, Nike pulled the highest profile product from the entire group. It had to cost Foot Locker hundreds of millions. Nike was not dependent on FL or any single retailer. In the end they sold the same volume. It was FL that got hammered. And ultimately if Samsung wanted to be the first to ship they could have shipped at the same time they shipped to retailers. I am not going to hold it against them, just pointing out that they are not only not first but quickly looking like they will be 2nd to last only beating BB. BB has not budged over the years so I fully believe they will wait for launch day... Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. As much as I really want to get this thing ASAP if the carriers ship before Samsung directly that is garbage. The Note 7 promo specifically says priority shipping so you get it first. No reason to include that if the carriers are going to ship 1st and they had no way to match the offer. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. Where did you go to check that? My email said shipping 9/11. But my Samsung shopping app doesn't show a shipping date. Just says order placed 8/25. Even though I ordered 8/24 and if I put in the info to track my order it shows as ordered the 24th. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah I had a speed test of 210 down but the ping was 38 and the UL was 12... What made the most difference? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. From my understanding of the ol Google results, hpue is not a sprint only tech. It is a new protocol for band 41. With that in mind I feel like the hardware will be in the device. The Chinese market is also using hpue on band 41. Sprint is definitely poised to leverage the tech and is marketing it heavily. However that really comes down to being the biggest band 41 game in town here in the US. Is there any thing else I should be concerned with unlocked vs carrier version? 12. Past promos required entering the details of your device. Along with uploading your receipt. I went directly to Samsung this time and they have you select the promo as part of the checkout process. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. So... Is there a substantial difference in performance to be expected from the unlocked vs the sprint version. I didn't really think that part through when I did my pre-order. I was thinking of the other benefits like bloatware ect. Will I be able to add the software that is missing to add some of those features back on? Ex. VoLTE. I just jumped to the resale value and simplicity. But as a Note line lover this is going to be my device for at least a year and that is not top of the list. The performance for me is! 14. I ordered the unlocked version directly from Samsung day one. I am having 2nd thoughts based on the hpue on sprint. Does anyone know if the unlocked version is compatible all the sprint network features? I have a sprint s8+ and my record speed test is 210. Don't want to go backwards.
