Moropo
Based on population density? lol... Kind of obvious. In which case Tampa fits nicely, right? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Paynefanbro
Because you are a geocentric New Yawker? AJ I am not that geocentric...ok maybe I am. But I identify by my borough rather than the whole city. I usually say I am a Brooklynite, and then a good ol' New Yawkuh
Boosted20V
In which case Tampa fits nicely, right? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 Beta Well clearly Sprint needed capacity there since everything I've seen stated was that they targeted areas which were high in usage. Supposedly Sprint drove the areas CLWR chose.
CaryTheLabelGuy
In that case, any word on if this first round of TD-LTE 2600 will include Jacksonville? Jacksonville was one of the first Clearwire WiMax cities, if my serves me correctly. Sent from my Sprint iPhone 5, not the old one (using Tapatalk 2). GregSmoov
Sounds good, can't wait to get my hands on a triband phone. Isn't it just Sprint now, not Sprintwire LOL since Clearwire technically doesn't exist anymore.
linhpham2
Sorry, but what does this have to do with Clear? Two different projects you are mixing here. Sent from my HTC ONE I'm just saying that Sprint could put NV on their existing Clearwire tower locations to fill-in any coverage gaps.

Sprint doesn't need to move onto exiting Cear locations, I'm not sure what you're going at here. Almost the entire Clear network (exception being protection sites) is buried well within the Sprint network. You mentioned the NV map not showing towers near downtown. Are you looking at the NV sites complete map? If so, that's no where near all the sites in the area. They aren't even closet to launching coverage in the area. There are many many more towers in the area that need upgraded.

Dkoellerwx
I found the source of my confusion. I was using the NV maps in the sponsor's section for a complete mapping of Sprint's towers. Ok, yeah. The NV Sites Complete map only shows sites that have had work. This map: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/652-network-vision-site-map-west-washington-oregonsw-washington-and-inland-northwest-markets/ Shows all the sites in Sprint's network that will eventually be upgraded. S4GRU
Specialists: All Customers: All Effective Date: 7/19/13 What you need to know: 7/19 is a big day for Sprint‘s Network Vision with new spectrum and new devices launching. 2.5GHz LTE data traffic will overflow to the Clearwire network in: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Miami, New York City, Tampa and Chicago. 3 new data connection devices launch supporting 2.5GHz LTE frequency: MiFi 500 LTE by NOVATEL, NETGEAR Zing Mobile Hotspot and NETGEAR 341U USB Modem. Why you need to know it: As Sprint completes the merger with Clearwire, we are gaining access to 2 new spectrums to use on the CDMA LTE network. 800MHz frequency provides better inbuilding penetration and larger coverage footprint, but reduced capacity. 2.5GHz frequency provides smaller coverage footprint, but greater capacity and speeds. This additional spectrum allows LTE devices to intelligently and dynamically select the appropriate frequency between 1900MHz, 800MHz and 2.5GHz to nail down a call. What you can expect next: New smartphones supporting 2.5GHz LTE will launch in the fall of 2013. LTE 800MHz network upgrades are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta I am kinda shocked that Denver was included in this list. Denver barely has any Network Vision towers upgraded in the city. It must be that Clearwire was deploying TD-LTE on its own towers vs. deploying on Network Vision towers. Also kinda surprised that Kansas City wasn't added to the list where Sprint headquarters is. These were Clearwire's priority list on their existing network. Nothing to do with Sprint or Network Vision sites, yet. TD-LTE 2600 probably won't start being installed on NV sites for 4-5 more months. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

DaQue
Does this mean that non-NV TD-LTE deployment will still continue? If you mean the current roll out of course it will. Expanding the network is anyones guess. Some say Son will push to be everywhere the big 2 are, some say just the best network where its available. IMHO (your mileage may vary) fix where its at and get the public perception is "Sprint Rocks, I wish I could get it here", then start adding footprint. And to keep the perceived performance that Sprint indeed does rock block access to new areas till its mostly fully deployed. I can't tell you how many times people look at me like I am a idiot and ask why when I say I use Sprint. Sprint Rocks, not yet but hopefully soon. S4GRU
Does this mean that non-NV TD-LTE deployment will still continue? It's been under deployment for 10-12 months. It didn't stop because the merger closed a week ago. All the equipment already purchased will be deployed. They are working through NV deployment plans for TD-LTE now. It will probably be a few months before new integrated sites start work. Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
