Of course. The signal from your phone to the Internet and back is really fast at 50 ms.

 

I think it's pretty snappy when I used to get 400-500 Kbps with 60-100 ms ping. I can't imagine a consistent 1 Mbps with low pings but I'm betting that after NV the average will be higher than that.

LTE is live in port jefferson and there are 3g upgrades popping up all over the island

 

That makes sense . Sprint is probably gonna start farther out in L.I first because it isn't as dense as where I live which is borderline Queens . 3G upgrades i'll be happy with that most definitely I don't mind 3G as long as its fast & I don't have wait long for a webpage to load ya know .

 

 

 

You know that 10Mbps is more than enough to satisfy anything you're going to do on your phone right? So long as you have low ping times, 2 or 3Mbps will accomplish even streaming video without much buffering.

 

More than likely the area where you live will not see Clearwire sites, at least not initially. They are deploying them in high-density. high-capacity areas to ease the network by allowing some phones to offload from Sprint 1900 onto 2600. And even when you do have the coverage, speeds will likely be faster than the 1900 network, but you're not likely to see speeds constantly as high as what you posted.

 

The site that has been accepted with LTE is in Port Jefferson. As far as how long before it's active, I believe someone reported a signal there already, but it has not been mapped on Sensorly yet.

 

Yeahh , I think you guys are right about the whole 10mbps thing working out for pretty much anything , cause I remember when I went to Brooklyn I had LTE it was 3mbps up & down , I was able to go on Y'T & watch a video it wasn't 1080p but it did load pretty snappy.

I've getting spotty (but existent) LTE in Nyack, as well as along the LIRR in Jamaica and near Tarrytown on Metro-North

 

Hopefully it heads north soon!

 

West Nyack near the Palisades mall is the first place I ever got LTE it was amazing , I check sensorly every now & then to see if the coverage over their is getting better & I see a lot more purple . Sprint FTW .

When do u guys think those WHOLE upgrade not just NV , will be complete ? I hear Late 2013 early 2014 but thats a doubt , at this point , I think everything for Sprint will be complete by 2014's end .

Sprint will be 100% complete at the end of 2014. They should have upgrades started in every market by the end of 2013. By year's end I would expect to see more dense coverage of NYC, Chicago complete, Puerto Rico and the USVI complete, and then some.

This morning, I had a LTE signal at work for 15 seconds in the financial district. I hope that means someone was testing the signal and hope to get some LTE here at work. been living with poor data ever since Sandy. The signal strength was -118 which means it's a bit far away but it's giving me hope. Anyone else in the area noticed it?

Did a test on nhl gamecenter live. A 3hr hockey game on LTE used 3.6GB. Wow!

I have a question. I really have horrible reception at work. My office is in literally the middle of the building (2nd floor, middle section of the floor) and the build has been renovated but seems like the foundation of the building is really old. I can get 4g anywhere inside the building but very weak 3g only in my office. Since I have Airave unit I no longer need at home (thanks sprint; 1-2 bar 1X, 0.1mbps 3g speed has gone up to 4-5 bars with freaking awesome 3g speed -80dbm and 95-100 RSRP LTE 3-10mbps download), I have a plan to bring the Airave to my office. Would that be okay with sprint since it will be connected to non home network? Not sure how the firewall at work will do to the unit but its worth a try I think.

You can connect it up anywhere. It utilizes a VPN style connection to their network for security reasons so your network would need to allow for that plus have an okay ping time with jitter being the key for voice. The GPS signal from the antenna and/or antenna extension wire is required so take that into consideration with the location of the device.

yea. i noticed that getting GPS is the biggest challenge.
