Hey guys I was getting LTE around the Hiawassee and east colonial area. When I did a speed test it was 6mb down and 1 upload. I kept the 4g signal when I turned onto Kirkamn and lost it when I hit metro west blvd and Kirkman.

How about this? Fastest 3G speed test I have ever done, inside the UCF gym on the first floor on Sunday night, 5/26/2013. I'm also getting LTE throughout my apartment at a very faint signal that doesn't last long. We're getting there guys.

I live close to 15 A and 17-92 in Deland and I picked up 4 G for about 60 seconds. I was playing with my kids outside and just happened to check the time and saw the 4G. If I wouldn't have taken a screenshot I would have thought my mind was playing tricks on me! ha  I spent another hour trying to toggle it back........ but nothing. Its coming though. (sorry I don't know how to make the picture smaller..)

I have good news for whoever lives in and around Metrowest close to Conroy Windermere. I got a second 4G when I looked down at my phone while at Turkey Lake Park. I also saw a West tower communications pickup on Hiawassee Rd going towards Conroy Windermere Rd. I also noticed a quick second of 4G while on I4 just leaving downtown going East earlier this morning.

Yesterday I went to Winn Dixie to get sustenance, and was going to get pizza afterwards and pick it up since I was out rather than delivery.... A huge mistake not to load the map before leaving the house.....The data network essentially "stopped" and even though having 5 bars, said there was no network connectivity. Could not even load the map. So we drove home, sat in the car and used the wifi for a moment, and then left again. Two trips in one. By the time we got to the pizza place which is no more than 2 miles away, 20% of battery gone..agh! Hurry up network vision

 

This is how I feel when you guys say you're getting decent 3g and 4g lte lmao.

There are a thousand potential answers to the question "why does my phone battery drain so fast" and it varies by your usage pattern, screen on time, apps you have, how often you're using your data connection, etc

The biggest battery drain is usually your signal strength. If you have a poor signal your phone is going to constantly be searching to find a better one. Where I was living I was constantly switching between roaming and 1 bar of Sprint and my phone would lost like 40% battery in an hour or so even if I wasn't really using it.

Where I was living I was constantly switching between roaming and 1 bar of Sprint and my phone would lost like 40% battery in an hour or so even if I wasn't really using it.

Signal strength as well as overall data speed. Even though 3G technically uses less power than LTE, that only holds true if the 3G speed doesn't end up with ridiculous amounts of radio on time.

While parts of Daytona Beach are enjoying LTE speeds, Port Orange is still seriously lagging behind with horrendous speeds. It's consistent speeds like this that have me seriously considering a carrier switch when my contract is up in October.

 

 

 

Your market is in active deployment. It is going to take some time to get to every area. If you cannot wait, we understand. You have to do what you have to do. However, please do not post slow screenshots. We all know that the Sprint legacy network sucks.

EXACTLY! If I saw consistent speeds daily then I wouldn't be thinking about leaving all the time. It's 32kbps one day, 1.5mbps the next, and 500kbps the next day. It's all over the map. And now with LTE speeds popping in and out. it's on an even wider scale. Every time I'm on my phone outside of a wifi connection I say a little prayer that the data gods are on my side. This also wouldn't be such an issue if we weren't all handing over at least $100 a month to Sprint

I'm a letter carrier in Ormond and saw a WesTower truck parked by one of the apartment complexes that had antennas on top

Luckily that's where I was going to take my lunch break, so I waited for the workers to pop out of the building; I asked what the hold up is around here and whether or not equip has been installed in port orange. Two of them walked off as fast as possible while one of them stood there like deer in headlights not expecting to be asked such a 'secretive' set of questions. He said that some base cabinets have been installed in port orange but most of the wait are the telcos providing fiber(Gee really?)  And that it would be a couple of months before something in port orange lights up with LTE..

I got a pretty nifty limited time discount, so unless Dan Hesse says unlimited data is dead and/or says we're never getting LTE, I'm probably going to be a Sprint lifer.

      Kind of amazing that T-Mobile is still holding onto that speed title despite Verizon all but killing off lowband 5G on their network. While Verizon is mostly being evaluated on mmWave and C-band performance, T-Mobile and AT&T's average 5G speeds include their massive lowband 5G networks that are significantly slower.

      Yup. Very true. We were originally on an Everything Data 1500 Plan, which got Unlimited Minutes thanks to Marcelo's "Loyalty Benefits" offer. We then switched to Unlimited Freedom (with the Free HD add-on that Sprint originally wanted $20/month per line for.... remember that?) because the pricing was better with "iPhone for Life", vs. the "Loyalty Credit" for staying on a Legacy Plan. After that, I ran the numbers and switched us over to Sprint MAX, especially for the international travel benefits. There's absolutely no reason for us to switch to Go5G Plus or Go5G Next if we're going to do BYOD by purchasing from Apple/Samsung/Google directly as we've been doing. These new plans aren't priced for current customers to switch to. They're priced for new customers, where they throw in a free line, etc. It's gone from "Uncarrier" to "Carrier". What a shame.

      Strange business model that they keep around all these pricing plans. 1000s of plans per carrier is reportedly not uncommon.  Training customer support must be a nightmare. Even MVNOs have legacy plans. A downside of their contract mentality I guess. Best to change contracts during a recession. But then all carriers try to squeeze out legacy plan benefits as they grow old.

      Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now.
