Network Vision/LTE - Miami/West Palm Market

Mondays In Flames

Recommended Posts

So in the 2 weeks between my south Florida trips I saw a ton of progress. The tower that serves my parents place went from overloaded and with coverage holes, to band 26/sprint b41 live. Surprisingly the b26 signal was pretty good already, and it filled in all the dead spots.

I rarely dropped LTE in my limited driving around Davie and Weston, and was more often than not camping on band 26. MMS worked with no problems, which was very much not the case 2 weeks ago.

Now they need to ramp up the back haul and optimize.. Speeds are still low enough that i am guessing thats still an issue. Still..that improved quickly.

So I imported all the B26 hits as I drove around since realizing that B26 was active on my last post to Google Maps this is what I got.

Of course this isn't a highly detailed map it's just that I got signal often in various places so it's popping up really quickly.

1*800 is there. I have never seen a call go from band 26 to 1*800 before. 25 can hand you to 1*800 or 1*900 but I think band 26 can only hand off to 1*800. Make a call on band 26 then check signal check to see if its there.

With all these B26 towers popping, where the heck is 1x800?!?!

It's wrong. Speeds on Sprint aren't capable of getting the high without carrier aggregation. The speedtest app was wrong.

Yea I thought it was wrong too, till I just sat there, closing the app, resetting my phone, changing servers and all the results were consistent for 25 min straight. Then it went back down. I guess they are working on smtn in my area, for sure.

Does anybody know sprints roll out plans for Spark in Fort Lauderdale? According to the maps Sprint spark is available in many areas however my area Margate / Coral Springs has no sprint spark. Does Sprint plan on deploying Sprint Spark to these last few areas.

Orange is 4G LTE, Yellow is Sprint Spark

Any logical explanation? I even restarted my phone and i was still getting speeds over 100 on my LG g3 (non spark device)

Try sensorly. Its the most feature rich also allows you to map LTE on crowdsourced site.

I do find it odd that all speed test over 100mbs are coming from FL.
