Yeah I'll probably just wait it out and see I was planning on upgrading to the next iphone hopefully it will support spark but hopefully they fix things these last two years have been miserable with really slow 3G speeds and a lot of dropped calls and what not, thanks for the replys

The dropped call issue should be correcting itself from north to south this month and over the next several weeks. The speeds... Well it'll take a bit more widespread LTE deployment to fix that. Also, as sites come online, speeds might not be what you'd expect. It'll take some time for the number of live sites to catch up to the number of users.

Hopefully the next iPhone will support Band 41. If not that, it will support Band 26 which is also going live in Denver. Band 26 brings better in building and distance coverage thanks to the lower frequency. The speeds are the same as those on Band 25, max of 37.5Mbps.

I would like to see band 41 on the iPhone 6 and I do believe we will see it. Though I am still happy to have band 26 on the 5s, with, just as you said better building penetration.

I don't have a triband phone so cant speak from experience, but if the propagation and building penetration characteristics for band 41 LTE are similar to what they were with WiMax I wouldn't count on seeing a lot of it indoors. Wimax never made it to Louisville where I live, but at work in Denver it was really picky about where you stood in the building and how you held the phone. I assumed that was more about the band than Wimax itself.

Band 26 on the other hand should really help out. The 1x800 voice coverage really is starting to fill in the dead zones from 1900, Band 26 LTE should be able to do the same once it's rolled out.

Band 41 LTE is far better than WiMax. Plus, the new 8T8R antennas that are being deployed as part of NV 2.0 (likely showing up this summer in Denver) use beamforming to achieve propagation similar to PCS LTE.

That's good info. I owned a Wimax phone for 2 years and probably got a useful wimax connection less than an 5 hours in two years. I'm way more excited about band 26. I'd be real happy with 10Mbps if it were consistent and reliable.

So Greeley is live don't know about picture posting but 26665 1912.5mhz

Glad someone was able to confirm that. Couple of sites went live last week. Still more work to be done, but it's progress.

Do you have the Signal Check Pro app? If not, I'd recommend it. Take screenshots when you have a strong LTE signal and post :tu:

Have the free one. One tower confirmed so far, right by my office and our repeater does carry it down to my basement office thankfully.

How about a 1x800 victory story. Everybody is commenting on sites along Hampden and into the tech center going live.....get along of this 1.21 gigawatt story of awesomeness.

I'm at the Los Dos Portrillos Mexican restaurant at Holly and County Line. Basically between Quebec and University on 470. That's a little ways away from Ulster in the tech center at 25 and 225. How many towers are closer than that.....anybody? Bueller.....a shitload. But here I am. Getting 1x800 in the restaurant from the tower on Ulster.

Could someone with some inside knowledge answer a few questions?

1. What is the current status of csfb in Colorado?  Has it rolled out to the point that Spark phones are reliably getting a solid lock on LTE, or are they still mostly having to force LTE?

2. What is the projected (best guess) roll out of band 26 LTE? I'm seeing 1x800 voice at most locations now even though it isn't showing up on the maps at most locations, will band 26 LTE show up at the same time band 25 LTE shows up? When a site is NV accepted does it have all the hardware in place for band 26 LTE and it's just waiting for backhaul, or is there additional hardware to install?

I'm not asking for locations or specific towers, just general info here. Both of these questions will help me decide when to make the jump to a new phone.

1) Can't say for sure as I'm not there, but CSFB updates should be pushed to sites shortly after their cluster launch. Any places that has been cluster launched should be good to go.

2) Ongoing. Mostly Yes. Yes.

As fast as the data has gotten these past few weeks, it's the voice and text delivery that has really surprised me the most. Where as texts would lag to leave my phone a while back, they leave almost as soon as I hit send now. Very impressive.

For the first time getting LTE at work without forcing it. 16th mall and Lawrence. Speeds are abysmal but I'll take it as I know it'll only get better. 1.5 down 2.5 up on S5

Ok Greeley results. 23rd Ave and 16th St. right next to a tower. And a ping under 3 minutes even. Still not optimal, plays havoc with some of my games.

Under 3 minutes? 116ms isn't that bad. Though it's usually under 100ms, that particular site may be fed by microwave.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — — The old permit expired for this site without any work being done but a new permit was just approved a few days ago for a T-Mobile site at this address. Description mentions 3 antennas with 2 RRUs per sector. My guess is they're doing something similar to what they did at 360 Furman St in Brooklyn where they broadcast Band 2/66 and n25/41 from one antenna. It's a bit of a downgrade considering the site it's replacing was a full build with Ericsson 6449s.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
