How is New Smyrna Beach overall? I'm going to be heading out that way during the X-Mas holidays for 2 weeks. Some of my family live in between the New Smyrna Speedway, and Lake Ashby (on Lake Ashby side). I know there's 2 LTE live towers that aren't all that far from one another in that area. Last time I was there 2 years ago, 3G was spotty out that way, and it's heavily wooded. According to one family member, she's been getting very good LTE signals on the 415, and pretty good overall service at home, I remember that kind of lacked since I was last there 2 years ago. Looks like I'm going to have to map more inland once I get there after looking at sensorly.

NSB overall is average. Expect LTE just about everywhere beachside, but If you go all the way down beachside (A1A) to Canaveral National Seashore expect 3G speeds only. When on the mainland, LTE is only along the two main roads (SR44 and US1). Venture too far from them and you'll loose LTE.

If you're willing to go just a few miles north, Daytona Beach has excellent LTE everywhere. And I mean everywhere. If you're on ISB (SR92) in front of the speedway you'll get SPARK speeds.

Thanks for that info. I noticed LTE on the SR44 and US1. As for DAB, I see how LTE rich it is down that way. I usually go out that way a Iot. Sanford is another spot I go to a lot also. I just might have to get a Spark phone this week to experience Spark, that isn't here in San Diego as of yet.

I just got my first iPhone. :D Which apps do you guys recommend for checking signal strength, etc? On Android, I used Sensorly and LTE Discovery. Any other options on iOS?

There are none......

Unless you jailbreak

Well someone jinxed it. B41 is not working for me pretty much anywhere. Jacksonville has infected the city with their clearwire issues....

Joy. Perhaps I should email Jerry Williams at sprint and see if he knows anything about this?

B41 appears to be working now.... Appears to be lol.

I was just looking at new apartments since our lease is up in Feb and just fell in love with this townhome. Best part, I can FINALLY get rid of my airrave. B41 and b25 and b26!! I'll be swimming in LTE data. I think I did 6 speed tests while sitting in the office signing holding fee papers. Ugh...

Is it sad I can't wait to move just so we can have better service lmao! You know you're an s4gru enthusiast when you get almost as excited about the new townhome as you do about the fact you have b41 throughout the entire neighborhood!

Quality wireless service is the number one factor for me when looking at houses. My last two homes have been bathed in wonderful wireless bliss.

Is that from a CLR or 8t8r site? I don't remember being able to get B41 at Waterford Lakes

I honestly have no idea how to tell... I was wondering the same thing, and this is one of the sites I was bouncing back and forth from about 2 weeks ago with no b41 service.... I have never had b41 inside the theater.

It is a clear site. Cell identity = GCI. 032 is clear and 8t8r are 05F (or > 99897344 for iphone). There are some 8t8r live in Orlando every time I go to run a speedtest the gci changes a couple seconds in.Screenshot_2014-12-19-19-04-36.png

So I'll be traveling down to Orlando Jan 23- Feb 1. I'm looking forward observing how much the network has changed since the beginning of May. Pretty much my last impression of Orlando was a B25 only market, no 1x800, but with blotches of Clear 41 here and there. I've witnessed the transformation here in Chicago over the last 6 months and I can only imagine the experience in Orlando is 110% better than it was 7 months ago.

I feel like I hit the Jackpot... Lol.... I have a high priority ticket open with Sprint Exec care and they forwarded my ticket to the local Ericsson tech. He called me directly. He was so impressed with my level of knowledge, that we talked for about an hour, an let me keep his number if I have issues or questions in the future. He lives in the same area and feels my pain with coverage... Niccceeeeee

Sweet. What band?

No idea.  He keeps his location off (or some setting) that doesn't let him see band type in Signal Check.

He's also not tech savvy about going into debug menu but I'm assuming it's B41.

His high signal confuses me. The closest site is pretty far away for having full bars. And if its b41, then its the first 8t8r site in disney because there are no clear sites there.

Well, he did state he was outside waiting in line at the time, but you're right.  It's probably B26 then...Just seems strange to see B25/26 so fast in such a populated area.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
