Woof, you feel that cold breeze, hell must have frozen over. ;)

Just kidding - hope it is true and on air for the last big summer weekend.

Not sure how long OC will take, but I think I might go for a drive down to Salisbury this weekend and map a little bit...

Lots of dropped calls starting yesterday here at home.. Maybe the notoriously terrible Rt 40 & Rolling Road site is finally getting NV'd? That would be a dream come true.

Terrible connectivity yesterday both 3G/4G in and around BWI Airport. It is very difficult to navigate out of the airport if there is little data connection for the GPS app. :(

Several accepted B41/8T8R sites north of the canal. And even one south of it.

There are still some pockets of horrible data (3G/crappy LTE) in very populated Baltimore suburbs. It is getting better, I wish they would pick it up. If it wasn't for band 26, some areas wouldn't even have ANY lte.

That side of the river is pretty sparse.Still lots of blank space on the eastern shore. But the coverage that Sprint has with those two tower's seems better the Verizon and AT&T. Did you do the mapping

I mapped it out on Christmas Day. The coverage isn't bad, B26 was live as well but the power was turned way down (same on the the other tower near the college). They could use a site near Church Hill though.... Speaking of 2 towers giving good coverage (at least in terms of area) are the 2 in Middletown and the 2 in Smyrna.

I was at BWI airport this morning, rocking Extended 1X coverage all around the airport. Couldn't even send a text message to let someone know where I was. <_<:td:

Drive 1 mile from the airport, and you can download at 50Mbps

Even though Sprint doesn't have the best coverage in my area. I do have lots of memories and nostalgia with the company. I wonder who else here will miss Sprint besides me?

I'm new to this forum, and I've seen people mention cell sites with specific ID's (for example, SF33XC664). Is there any significance to these ID's, and is there a way to decode them? Also, how do I figure out what the cell site ID's are for towers near me?
Thanks! I'm excited to start talking on this site more 😀

Samsung Network Vision equipment are highly distinct and fairly easy to spot compared to the equipment that other vendors are deploying. Sprint is Samsung's first extremely massive American contract (baring Clearwire) so there  should be no issues in confusing these equipment for another carrier which happens often with Ericsson NV equipment.

Below are images of Samsung equipment which includes antennas, remote radio units, base stations, and their mounting configurations.

    • Sigh.  In attempting to put the database back on my phone this evening after doing an update, it obliterated the database again.  It had been working as normal for several weeks. I think I'm going to [finally] apply the Android 10 update and see what happens.  Maybe it'll help... EDIT: When I rebooted, it came back up with data included.  No idea what to make of it.  Reimported from the file just in case, and it remained present, so we'll see, I guess. Separately, how hard would it be to make it possible to filter the Neighbor Notes?  I noticed earlier today that I'm seeing neighbors on Bands 12 and 2 pretty often.  Naturally, it tries to look for notes for those PCIs with PLMN 310120, even though they're clearly T-Mobile neighbors.  Would it be possible to add a "Sprint transition mode" or something where it matches Band 25/26/41 neighbor notes to 310120 and other neighbor notes to 310260? - Trip
    • Interesting to read an update.  But I remember a lot of people back then said, 'I will believe it when I see it.'  Now, 5 years later, I can't help but hear those voices even louder now.  They were certainly proven right.  Even if it does eventually happen. Robert
    • I know that. I'm talking about further down the line for 5G. What I'm saying is that with the addition of Sprint's PCS, they can expand LTE on PCS and shift HSPA from AWS to the remaining 5MHz in PCS-B so that they can have a 25MHz n66 carrier down the line and a 20MHz n2 carrier since n2 is not currently registered for greater than 20MHz carriers. The other solution would be to simply get rid of HSPA altogether and have two 25MHz n66 and n25 carriers since n25 allows for 25MHz carriers. Then T-Mobile could retain the 5MHz PCS-G for legacy LTE service.
    • Hopefully they get more Sprint users in T-Mobile since they are reducing B25 for Sprint to 2 5x5 blocks and I've also notice B41 LTE disappearing in LI. Sent from my SM-G988U1 using Tapatalk
    • HSPA+ isn't on B2 in NY. It's on B4 out there since they have 20x20 B4. Before the merger TMO only had 10x10 total Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
